All is fine and dandy Libby.  Thanks for your concern.  ;D

I am in Pennsylvania right now and was when the storm hit.  Reports from locally in my area are all good.   Some sporadic power outages still, and some problems with the gas supply, but most of my family and friends dodged a major bullet.

Locutus, I'm glad you are fine and well.  They say some times you get the bear and some times the bear gets you and Irma was sure a bear.

Depending on who has information on spending in this country.  48% to 76% of the American people live paycheck to paycheck.  After Irma I wonder how many people in Florida are going to be destitute and will have to file bankruptsy.  :spooked:  This will also hurt the banking and the insurance industry.   :spooked:  Florida looked like Berlin Germany after World War II.  This hurricane will take some time to heal.   :'(

Thank you sir, and I too am glad that all is well.

There are still widespread power outages and numerous businesses have yet to reopen all over the state.  I'm quite certain you're right in that many workers, especially those that are non-exempt and paid hourly, are going to have an impact because of the inability of certain places to open due to conditions.

Days, weeks, and months will be required all up and down the state.   :-[

Glad to hear.  Ain't PA the greatest?  ;) Well, parts of it are! Although I do love my area in the summer and fall, so much beauty around.

Is anyone else sick of grandstanding overpaid football players? Fans pay to see a bun h of men play a game, not to see a pretend political protest. If these men really want something to change they should do it on their own time. This goes for basketball and baseball teams and the women who play too.

I don't watch very much, but money I spend in Marion county goes to support the Colts. It would be difficult to ignore all the attention they are given in the broadcast news. I think they are grandstanding and they really want something to change, get off their knee and actually do something.

My personal disgust with the NFL has been expressed for many years herein; and it has nothing to do with today's "issues". (All of which are being exacerbated by the jack wagon with the cat for a hat).

The players have every right to peacefully express themselves. However all those expressing a desire to stop them should seriously examine their views and opinions. Especially those living in at will or right to work states. (Indiana is both). In those states you can and will be summarily fired if you express an opinion within a public manner that is against corporate views and positions. And you'll be SOL to do anything legally about it.

That the league has not fired anyone or taken corrective action against them is simply due to the fact it would be killing the golden goose. Had that been any one of us we would this day be unemployed. Even for expressing same on social media. Your own, "private" social media account.

I've never suspected it would be this bad. Today the cat for a hat guy tweets and his minions parrot and obey. 😡

What does a flag or anthem really represent when most of the people it is supposed to represent don't feel equal, safe, appreciated, or even worse represented?

Symbols of patriotism represent the people behind them. Putting more value in the flag or an anthem than it's people is what truly is unpatriotic.

If you really want this to go away, let's get back to the conversation of why it started and what we ALL can do to make that flag REALLY represent the UNITED States of America! But it's an easier topic for most to just focus on the disrespect of a symbol or an anthem. Especially for this nations POTUS it appears. 😡

Stop buying into his bait and switch propaganda !

We can and must do better.

I will not switch to the hatered. What it all boils down to is the left thinks no one has a right to disagree with them so they stir the pot wherever they can to try to make it uncomfortable for the right and brow beat them into agreeing with them.

Patriotism isn't about making everyone stand and salute the flag.

Patriotism is about making this a country where everyone wants to.

Question:  Does an American flag made in China mean the same to you as an American made by American worker?
