Anyone see the eclipse?  Did anyone go blind?  ;D
I hate to say that in spite of my lifelong interest in astronomy, I got caught up in something and waited too long to get the glasses, so watched on TV as others across the country saw it. There were a lot of people locally who were very enthusiastic about it. For me, it was interesting to sit in my easy chair facing west and watch as it got close to dark -- the "air" looked kinda like it does when we get a rainbow after a big storm. And speaking of storms, there was one close by so doubt I would've seen the eclipse even if I'd had the glasses.

I did. Along with 80% of the day and second shifts where I work. I held my tier meeting outside and had my entire team there together. . . It was overcast but we got a few glimpses of it. And we all had glasses too. 😬

Storms were rolling in and we made a quick exit because of it. Just in time too. 😳

The site leader saw me hold my meeting out there too. And I received an in person atta boy from him for thinking outside of the box. 🙄🤣

I have been greeted the last 3 days at work by a praying mantis on the glass right by the entry way. 😬

I had to shuffle one out the door at my work the other day.  It was actually inside a vestibule area.  ;D

I think the worst of it should stay south of there, but they're going to get a lot of rain.

18 to 24 inches of it. And it is going to linger so that's an estimate.  They are in that prediction band.  :spooked:

Yeah, you really don't want this happening.

All of them are safe thus far; however it would seem they are in even greater danger despite their preparations.

Both daughters are now officially flooded into their homes, and while the waters are not in or what I would consider near their homes it is within a block or two of them both.

Neither can leave their neighborhoods as they are surrounded by raging flood waters. (They've sent me video). I take some measure of solace in the fact both of them prepared well in advance of the arrival of the storm, and have food and supplies to last them 4 to 6 weeks in their homes.

School is cancelled through at least Tuesday in the Spring, Tomball, Magnolia area as it is expected to continue raining and storming through Tuesday where they are. Both said they have experienced Tornado- Shelter in place warnings multiple times since Saturday but thus far the twisters have stayed away from their neighborhoods.

I'm glad both of them paid attention to the behaviors we displayed when they were children surrounding disaster preparedness. I am so thankful I highlighted this for them when they were young, and that they paid attention, although at the time I was just thinking of them and following my training and not consciously trying to teach them anything. (Just goes to show you that children learn their behaviors from their parents). Hope the other 4 did as well!  :smitten:

The storm is now predicted to move directly over them so. . .  :spooked:
