Indeed. I have a few of my own that I could relate. . .

And liars!  My soon to be ex claims about being a wonderful christian, yet I've caught him lies, one dealing with money that I proved to my lawyer he lied about.   I also know of the lies he told our friends and my parents about me on why I left him.  They believe him because he goes to church, prays, and reads his bible.  The friends don't have much to do with me anymore and my parents have maintained a close relationship with him, closer than what they have with me.  I told them why I left him, but they don't believe me.  Pretty shitty.

That is shitty that your own family would choose him over you but it happens. I tend to be that religion is a private and personal thing and even though I grew up in a religious home,my parents were pretty good about not shoving religious belief  down people's throats.

Endured similar myself in the past. For what it is worth, I can tell you that the truth will prevail eventually. It can seem painstakingly torturous surrounding the amount of time it will take, but when it does come out it will bring you great relief and pleasure in some ways. For those on the wrong side of the truth it will bring greater pain and will reduce them to groveling.

At least that has been my experience.

In the meantime, Karma will be hard at work; that much you can absolutely believe. Do nothing to influence for it must come in its own time; and if you are lucky you will be around when it is delivered.

Nothing worse than a hypocrite in my view.

I'm sure you are already doing this, but the best thing you can do is move forward with your life. It sucks to start over, but each time you do your foundation is stronger for the experience. Eventually your life will be better than you expected. You just have to ride out the storms and endure.

Thank you PH.  I am moving forward.  I look back at the last two years, (I left him in 2014) and am amazed at how different I am.  I look forward to my future.  I know my storm hasn't ended yet and it may get worse, but I know it will never be worse than it was before I left him. If there is karma, he's going to get bit big time. I don't know if my relationship will ever be the same with my parents, but I'll deal with it as it goes along.  I've given up on my best friend, but maybe I'll find another some day.

You say it sucks to start over, in a way it does, and yet in another way it doesn't.  I'm out of an abusive relationship and now think for myself.  I'm stronger and more confident, so starting over hasn't sucked in that respect.  Having to make a whole new set friends?  Yeah, that sucks, especially when you thought you were tight with some of them.  Oh well, live and learn and move forward!  :)

Yeah, it is hard to meet and make new friends but think of the journey. I had a best friend since she was in 2nd and I was in 3 rd grade. She was my maid of honor, confidant, etc. Got on Facebook one day and she was gone as my friend. She had moved and lost several of us as friends and still hasn't added some of us back. Not the same but have sent her messages and all unanswered, not sure what some of us have done to her and we have decided to just go on and not worry about it.

Religious people are some of the biggest liars and cheaters.  The only way for you to handle him is to get the biggest shark for a lawyer and clean his plow.  Remember he is not you friend in any way and he has cut out your heart, so you cut out his guts with a lawyer.    Him <---  :shrk: <--- You and your lawyer.

At  Ford Motor Co they put on 150 apprentices and over a half got a divorce.  Because the time we had to go to school and the cut in pay and loss of over time.  The women thought they could do better I guess.  They didn't know how much more money their men would make when they got their skill trade.  :haha.  I had to work with these guys every day and the stories I heard.  I know one damn thing, if you don't fight, fight and get a good good lawyer you are going to lose your ass.  Good luck and cut the bastard deep.   :kick: :smash:

I do have a good lawyer.  She's quite sharp.  I don't want revenge or anything out of the ordinary, I just want what is due me after staying home for 18 years raising my daughter and taking care of everything.  I quit my job to take care of her and have a tiny 401(k).  He has this strange idea that I can waltz back into the business world and make $50,000 a year.   :spooked:  I just want to make a living wage!

50k a year is just barely a living wage these days in some areas of this country.

Half. Half of EVERYTHING! Including his retirement /401k. You earned it.

  Thanks for your and others here for the support.  It really means a lot to me.  I'm looking forward to when I can put this all behind me and don't have to deal with him, except where my daughter is concerned.  I'll always be civil to him, but only because of her.
