Greta Van Susteren has abruptly left Fux News.  ;D

Wonder what that's all about.

It's tied in the Roger Ailes' departure.  She exercised an option in her contract and hit the exit.

Yep. Brent Hume is taking her place.

She is a lib and her hubby was part of Kerry's staff when he was running for POTUS.

There was a LOT of very interesting stuff in Sunday's Washington Post -- some of which I wanted to post here for discussion -- but -- a very dear old friend who lives in Delaware died suddenly a few days ago. Her next door neighbor found her and called me. I called friends who live all over the country. She left a will saying, among other things, that she wanted to be buried beside her parents in Woodlawn Cemetery (back home in WV). Right now we don't know who has her ashes. It's very complicated but I'm too tired right now to write any more. Goodnight all.

 Every day brings more   I'll probably never give up my paper version of the WP. They sometimes tuck some of the most surprising things away in sections like Style, and the Opinions section on the very last page. I like it because I can put my feet up at the end of the day and thumb through ... or go to sleep.

I've often thought that if there were some other area of the country in which I could live, outside of Florida, that the DC area might be a good second choice for me.

Speaking of Greta, she's going to have a bit of a problem getting this stuff back from Fux News.  This is a posting from her Facebook page.

I am hoping Fox News will give me all my personal photos and video from my blog GretaWire that they took down without giving me any notice. I have pictures and video I took in North Korea, in Sudan, Iraq of my pets, friends, etc. that I don't have copies of. There are almost 15 years of memories. How about my pictures of GretaHome and Academy in Haiti? Of the children? That has nothing to do with Fox. I want those pictures and I don't have copies of them all. John and I built a canal with Reverend Franklin Graham and fed 250 families / villagers in Cambodia for a year while we built the canal and I took lots of pics - I want those pics. This has nothing to do with Fox - this is mine.

They know I want them so I hope they preserve them.

I have many personal memories in my personally shot video and pictures from events that were not paid for by the Fox News Channel. I also took the video and picture on my own camera equipment.

Even if there is a legal right for them to not return them - and I don't know that there is - there is also a fundamental decency. Many of the videos posted on GretaWire were taken by me on my camera equipment and many are just personal as I brought the viewers into my life and I went into theirs.

People have asked me why I did not back up all the pics? Easy answer - first, there were so many and I was uploading from the road etc and at all times...and second? While Fox may have its rights to the blog, I trusted them to be decent about it. I still trust that after they have thought about this they will do the right thing. What's the point in not doing it? What do they gain? This should not be a silly game. This should just be about doing the right thing. And when they do, I will graciously thank them here for doing it.

Note that they have agreed to return to me all my things in my office (I own my desk for example) and I appreciate that.

I understand them taking it down and I am hoping they did preserve it. Since she is no longer on the air it makes sense they would take it down and put Brent Hume in her place.

I hope she gets the pics back. I would think but don't know that since they are pics that she took that there should be some type of copyright that she owns them.
