take Sunday off and do nothing.

Lucky you! These days, the only time I can take a day off and do nothing is if I'm really sick.

One day I just figured as long as the important things got done the other stuff didn't matter then figured what had to be done and what could wait and took it from there. Yard, laundry, minor repairs, groceries, dishes, and a few other things were must do's but dusting, vacuuming, washing the car, and things like that took a back seat 'cause those could be done a little through the week if I got a chance.

I admit that the problem is me. I can't stand leaving things undone or not finished. I'll have to work on that.

I was that way until about mid 60's when I happened to think about the things I missed out on because I was always too busy "getting things done" and decided it was now or never. Being OCD about some things isn't a problem withe me anymore for sure. The major stuff gets done but that little stuff, not so much.

Well just think. . . As the left coast burns the middle of the nation is drowning in rain and sweltering in heat and humidity. Along with cleaning up the mess the hellagood storms have been leaving behind; twisted power lines and scores of fallen trees. And this winter is a roll of the dice surrounding whether or not it will be snow or tons more water on top of it all. . .

A historic El Nino event is forecast to strike across the country in late fall. It is currently growing over the PacRim sector of the planet and is slowly crawling this way.

Make sure you stock up on staples and canned goods / water well before this thing comes calling this late fall through Spring 2016 and possibly beyond.

We'll either experience a real snowmageddon, or flooding the likes of which may drive some of the zealots to begin building arks!  :spooked:

I have been doing a stock up every since the blizzard of '78' since that caught me by surprise and we were out of almost everything since I did only weekly grocery shopping back then. May not have some things I might want but I'll have what I need to get by.

And how true was this for a lot of people?

Fewer than 1 million Americans had their health insurance plans canceled for 2015 for noncompliance with Obamacare rules, according to a report by the Urban Institute and Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

Nearly 17 million Americans gained health insurance in the first 18 months of Obamacare, according to new estimates from RAND Corp. that show far more people got insurance coverage than lost it since the most important provisions of the Affordable Care Act took effect.

Absolutely true for me. So far I haven't paid a penny extra. That includes out-patient surgery after an MRI and other pre-op tests, plus regular follow-up visits to two different ophthalmologists, one my regular doctor, the other the surgeon. I can see any doctor I please, and my two medications (eye drops) are half the price they were before.

I went to township (read country) schools. I do remember taking an "IQ" test in grade school but we weren't told the result but our parents could get the numbers. At the time I thought the number was low, but my parents and teacher were pleased. :)

I went to school in the mountains of SW Virginia. Talk about country! It was just four small one-room buildings and an outhouse. Yes ... an outhouse. There was no indoor plumbing. And each room was heated with a coal stove.  It was a great place to go to school! :smitten:

A little over 4 hours/225 miles southwest of Walton's Mountain. Higher up in the mountains. Not too far from the highest city east of Denver!

I graduated in 1969 and I can remember standardized tests all the way back to at least third grade. I remember Ms. Brooks showing me where I scored against the national average.

Ole' Bo D  do you remember Ms. Brooks first name?
