Thanks everyone for the awesome answers to my sincere questions. As I was reading through the thread, I started to get the feeling that there is a thought that education is 1) only considered "education" when it's formal 2) Only obtained for the purpose of having a job or career path and 3) has an expiration date (meaning once you learn what you need to do the work you want to do, then you're done). I'm very happy to see that's not what anyone meant.

Honestly, it's my opinion that the point of education even gets lost in our education system. I also believe there's no way A school to the level of graduating high school can possibly teach anyone everything they need to know and should be more focused on teaching them how to obtain knowledge and further that it's important to want to.

I agree with all of your responses (yes, me, it's going to snow in Southern California  ). I just want to add that it's important to remember that education is available to all of us in various formal and informal methods. That said, I can't imagine why an educated person (a person educated formally or informally) would put anyone down. Truly educated people understand all this and that the end (being able to learn and grow) justifies the means. This brings me full circle to one of my earlier posts.
