Anybody else think MS Rice (aka-Mrs Ray Rice) is only protesting because her sugar daddy's income, present and future, has been drastically reduced?

I see divorce court before her half is reduced further!

Last year we had several tomato plants in pots around our flower bed on the NW end of our property. They were great, and punkinhead helped me keep them picked. During the course of last summer we had a number of them ruined by insects, (before Preen application began), and I just tossed them into the flower bed in hopes of getting a volunteer plant this year. . .

Alas, summer arrived and our flowers came up loud n proud, and thick as ticks on a hound. We've enjoyed them all summer long, and it was a bit of a disappointment to see them going dormant due to the arrival of cooler overnight temps. . . Until I went to mow Sunday. . .

There, amongst the browning stems of our now dormant "forest" of flowers, poked out what looked to me to be a tomato plant. I got off the tractor and opened up a hole around the branch, and yes indeed; not one, but 4 different plants had been existing amidst the flowers all summer long. And 3 of them have tomatoes on them, green and ripening.  :big grin:

Punkinhead is coming over this weekend, so it looks like it'll be tomatoes; ripe and fried green this weekend!

Awesome.  8)

Took him out and asked him, "What's that?" He replied, "Baby tomatoes! I told you Poppy!"

I told him, "Go ahead and pick them."

He did, and I promptly went inside, sliced them up, breaded them, and fried them.

"What are you cooking Poppy?"

Fried green tomatoes.

"Can I eat them?"

Yep.

He did, as did we. They were excellent!

This is kind of interesting, and also supports what I've always claimed around here.  That being that CNN is the most unbiased of the major players on cable news, and that FOX is the worst offender.  MSNBC doesn't do too well either with close to 45 percent of the information checked as being false, mostly false, or pants on fire.

Want to see how a particular cable channel or network is performing on PunditFact's Truth-O-Meter?

Now you can.

Each of the news networks that we routinely follow -- ABC, CBS, Fox, MSNBC and CNN -- has a scorecard that breaks down that network's performance on the Truth-O-Meter. The scorecard tallies each statement we fact-check on that network and groups the rulings by percentage.

What does that mean?

Right now, you can look at the MSNBC file, which also includes NBC, and see how that network's pundits and on-air talent stand. For instance, currently 45 percent of the claims we've checked from NBC and MSNBC pundits and on-air personalities have been rated Mostly False, False or Pants on Fire.

At Fox and Fox News Channel, that same number is now 58 percent. At CNN, it's 22 percent.

There's a difference between articles that show results of a poll regarding who people "trust" as opposed to empirical evidence of fact checking.  I think the Appeal to Popularity logical fallacy has been pointed out around here before.  The truth is still the truth even if no one believes it, and a lie is still a lie even if everyone believes it.

I certainly agree with that statement....but it seems like using punditfact as having empirical evidence of fact checking might be a little bit of faith that they are not unbiased.

Either way, I am not against them, and they are interesting to read.
