Daughter and son-in-law at friend's daughter's wedding, grandson #1 at his dad's and then to a birthday party, grandsons # 2 and 3 gathering up their stuff to head back to VA tomorrow. We had a little birthday party for grandson #3's twelfth birthday today. My they grow up fast. We have had a busy week with all of them here.

I just saw this comment to a story about Snowden and think it pretty much covers any political discussion about any subject currently.  The comments on the HCRA in another thread are a perfect example of one of many issues...every single one of which comes right back to this salient point.  Don't blow smoke up my ass about his policies because while I'm sure you hate them, it's because you hated him first so they must be bad.

I am an unaffiliated voter. I am NOT stuck. I move. When necessary. That's why I can also call myself a 'former' conservative voter. I moved. The argument that you are currently using - IS actually, divisive. It's doesn't 'sound' like it is, but, it is. What we are talking about here - are broken down along the 'issues'. You divide, by attacking people/parties. We aren't talking about the merits of these far reaching 'security' tools here.....we are 'stuck', once again, talking about the people. See, we've actually HAD this debate about spying, rendition, EIT's ect. And the guys who authored it - used the excuse that it was a wartime necessity - which we are still technically ~ AT WAR. So what's the real difference here? Obama. Every single 'issue', revolves around the one position in government. And this tearing down of both parties, is actually nothing more than a 'If I can't rule America, then you can't either'! And there is ONLY ONE party attempting such a thing. For the last 5 years! NOT two.

That is your view of things but others see it differently which is only normal.  When parts of a bill, or possibly a whole bill, or something we don't agree with pops up the standard reply is, "you don't like it because Obama is black", not exact words most of the time but it is implied that if Obama were white it would be hunky dory.  Those of us who disagreed with Hillary's HCB were not called sexist but according to the way things are looked at now that would be the case because a woman presented it.  This constant not being able to disagree with the current administration without being called a racist or, if black, an uncle Tom or traitor, is only causing unnecessary tension and creating a problem that should not exist.  Even those who voted for Obama and once agreed with him have gone from wonderful, smart, super people to racist, stupid, uncle Tom, pieces of crap just because they happened to changed their minds about the current administration.  It starts to be about a bill or event and the left turns it back into being about the person.

Here's an example of the optimism that is so rampant in our city. How many riders do you think they are expecting?

LMAO! That was taken in the "booming" part of town; south-side just south of the Kohl's store and Shoe Carnival.

That damn bench would have to be extracted from my ass if I tried to sit on it and wait for the bus!

Oh ya?  I hadn't seen anything to indicate that.  Just shows up like rain on the radar I've been checking.

You don't see that counter clock-wise rotation that will result in even more of what we had today once the sun comes up in the morning?

(Why am I not surprised?)

That counterclockwise rotation is stuck there for another day or two as well.

I see that but I also see temps in the 70's here and no rotation.  If it starts moving this way and is still rotating and turning reds and purples today and tomorrow and temps are starting to get into the mid 80's and 90's then I might get alarmed.
