And as per usual, every vote counts here in Florida.  As a matter of fact, Florida's electoral votes still haven't been awarded as of this morning.  It's about as close to a tie here as you can get. 

Obama:  4,129,502
Romney: 4,083,441

That's a difference of only 46,061 votes statewide and a difference of .056 percent.  Florida law requires a recount if the margin is less than half a percent.  I'm hoping that because currently it's barely above a half of a percent, a recount won't be necessary.

IMHO Florida needs to get its act together and figure out how to count! They end up among the last states counting every single election since they hun "Chad".  :rolleyes:

Well we went a long way by dumping the system that left us with the hanging chad debacle.  The Secretary of State is probably going to have to determine whether to certify the results as they are, or require a recount.  But as I stated, the difference is slightly above a half a percent, so a recount shouldn't apply in this case. 

That being said, Tallahassee is awash with Republicans, so they may recount anyway just to spite Obama.  :rolleyes:

I wonder if the Feds will let them get away with that.  Seems to me that I recall them fighting California on that same issue a few years back.

Well it was a different administration at the DOJ when the California thing was going on, so who knows?
