Doctors, routine crays, pick up puppy from the groomers, try to reorganize my sewing room so I can actually sew in it.

Changed out a burnt out brake light, then discovered my DRL's were out. Changed those bulbs out and they are still dark. . .  Oh well, they are just daylight running lights. GM is notorious for those circuits going south. . .   Then I changed out my headlights while I was at it, high and low beams. (Yeah, I put those danged bright bulbs in  :icon_twisted: )

Then I cleaned out the interior, did the windows, and would have washed it too but it is going to rain so. . . Went and fueled up and picked up a gallon of marine 2 cycle oil to add to the tank (1/2 quart per tankful.)

Then I put together a fan and stand. . . did some shopping, took the pup outside and played with him for about an hour and half, fed the zoo, and am about to fix myself dinner!  :bliss:

Going to buy some more things for the garden.  Potting soil, plants and who know what else.   You know you just can't buy what on the list.

If you ever want to trade off that Chevy.  I can get you a Ford family plan that will save you around 13% off a new Ford built car or truck.  I think you would look real good in of of these Ford F150 four door pickup.

Just the right power and the right size for taking some friends with you.  My brother in law has a black F-150 4 door with plenty of chrome trim and chrome rims.  It is beautiful and plenty big.  Talk a bout a beautiful interior.  WOW!

If I ever trade trucks I going to get one, since I and not pulling a 32 foot RV trailer anymore, I don't need the F250 Super Duty with V-10 engine I got now.   A new F-150 will be plenty big powerful enough to pull my fish and ski Sea Ray bass boat.    :fish:

:icon_twisted: I'd consider it except for the fact I still am hooked on diesel power, and the Power Stroke continues to be problematic. . . Then there's my brother in law and father in law I'd have to deal with. . . (BOTH retired from GM). . .

Truth be known, if I were going to jump brands the Cummins Dodge puts in their HD pickups has the inside track!

And then there's "Karma". . . I left for work this morning and guess what started working? My DRL's!

What I want to know is, what do you need a diesel engine for.  Or for that fact such a big truck for.  I have read many articles on gasoline VS diesel engines.  Every article have said that the extra $5,000 to $6,000 for a diesel will not pay for itself.  Unless you are a full time camper traveling the country or a person who uses the truck for business and get a tax deduction and I got a deduction on my diesel truck.

I had a diesel and liked it, no trouble.  The same thing with all of my gas engines.  But the Ford 2012 6.7-liter Power Stroke V-8 Turbocharged diesel engine is one of the best, most powerful, most tested, best mileage of all of the Ford Diesel Engines.

Talking to some of the campers at my trailer park in Florida, they were not too happy with their Dodge diesel trucks.  Engines and transmissions.  I never drove one.  But to me they are the worse sounding diesel of them all.  Sounds like rocks in a beer can being shaken.

In 2003 I owned a Bayliner and a mid-range travel trailer; among other toys. I admit to oversizing my tow vehicle intentionally with the purchase, but longevity of service/fuel efficiency were also high value items on the decision list. I used it to commute daily to Indy.

Admittedly, I do not "need" the power at this point in time; however it is hard to validate the purchase of a replacement vehicle when the current one is paid for. . . minus some catastrophic event. Besides, it's nice to have a lot of times; especially when home improvement projects crop up or a buddy needs his toys/travel trailer hauled from their remote locations and home. Better to have and not need than to need and not have. . .

All of that being the case, long term plans do include the purchase of a new vehicle. But those plans do not include giving up my diesel truck. I stated when I bought it that it was "the last pickup truck I will buy in my life", and I intend to hold myself to that statement if at all possible. A man needs a truck, and I don't ever see that changing. . .

Yes, Cummins are noisy power plants to say the least. And all things considered Cummins enjoys a pretty high record of performance and professional driver satisfaction; a situation CAT once enjoyed in the US marketplace. In fact if you pay attention, the lions share of the 3/4 ton diesel powered PU owners that choose to run the through the bed "stacked" exhaust systems that mimic Semi Tractors, are Cummins powered vehicles. That way the exhaust noise levels drown out the engine noise!

Those Powerstrokes have a history of leaking like a 1958 HD Panhead,(Or AMF era HD), and it was a fairly consistent issue through model year 2007; the last time I personally did any research on them. At that time the stats were negative enough to steer me clear of them, but I acknowledge that it is possible that Ford has implemented engineered solutions for those issues by now. In fact, probably very likely. (A former colleague owned a 2006 and it was a constant problem for him as well. His parking spot at work needed no sign; it was marked with a huge oil stain).

I can support the stated issues with brakes and transmissions on the Dodge gasoline powered trucks up to the same time period (2007), as well as via personal experience with them. (I owned a Dodge gas fueled pickup before my 2500 HD, and in fact traded it in on the one I own now). Both were a nagging issue for me in owning the Dodge, and played a key role in my desire to unload it.

Awesome day! I was asked to be an instructor next week. I tossed my name in the hat a while ago and just assumed that someone else was picked, so I'm excited to find out that I was. After work, I went for a run, then took my daughter to her game. A bunch of family showed up, she was excited and it was a lot of fun. We went for ice cream on the way home.

Great day!

Sit in my recliner and watch tv until I see how much my mouth hurts from having a tooth extracted this morning.

Been there, done that, and don't want anymore.

But Anne after looking at your new home place.  Got one question.  CUTTING ANY GRASS?

Anne

No, I don't cut grass, that is man"s work. ;D  Actually the tooth is doing good so far. It is the one I had the root canal on in January. I am glad to be done with it. Ben fighting to keep it for three years.

We took flowers to the cemetery and now I am going to start dinner, chicken and noodles. Maybe we will go to Fraziers for ice cream later.
