I posted that just for you Olias. I know you are a fellow Yes Maniac!

Yes! I am!  THANKS VERY MUCH!!!!!!!

Being a former bass player myself, I think Chris Squire is the best bassist around! Listen to him closely on Close to the Edge and Drama (especially Tempus Fugit)

Oh I SO agree surrounding Squire. In fact, I had an opportunity a few months back to sit down with a budding bass player in Georgia, and while talking to him about the instrument and its various aficionado's, I brought up Chris Squire and to my stark horror he had never heard of him or the band Yes!

I told him that if he truly wanted to master his chosen instrument he needed to learn Squire's style and approach to the instrument. (I then sent him several recordings by Yes (Tempus Fugit amongst them) that I burned onto a cd, with the instruction to turn up the bass on his system while listening to them!

The young man was thunderstruck and I am told through the grapevine that they can no longer get him to listen to anything else because he is hell bent to learn some of those songs!

I also strongly admire Howe as a guitarist. I wish I had a small portion of his ability! That guy is amazing to say the least, and the group through its various changes, has always been one of my top 3 all time; simply because each member has always been a virtuoso on their chosen instrument, and vocally as well. IMHO.

I liked Yes before anyone else I knew had even heard of them. I played "Fragile" so loudly on my parents stereo system it shook the house! And I have now bought that set of recordings for an eighth time. (A personal high surrounding repurchases of any artists recordings). Hopefully now that I have them in an electronic version as well, I won't wear out the CD's this time!  :icon_twisted:

(And to this very day I sit down with Yes on the stereo and teach myself something new on the guitar every single time).

And for the record: Fragile was the very first album I bought without first hearing anything by them or any of the recordings on the album first. I had also not heard of Yes before, but bought it on impulse one day. I remember walking home from the store where I had bought it, (a five mile toe ride), and regretting spending the money along the way. . . But once I gave it a listen I was hooked, and deeply. I have never stopped purchasing Yes recordings since, and that experience taught me to open my horizons musically.  Something I have also done since. . .  (Or tried to anyway).

I find it amazing sometimes to discover that music I initially find uninteresting on the first pass through, ends up being some of my favorites once my ear acclimates to the style. Maybe its just me though. . .

I thought it looked like Roger Dean's work the instant I saw it the first time!

I had a good friend (and bass player) near the end of my high school days who was also a very talented artist. I commissioned a work by him, (large on canvass), that encompassed copying (pirating) some of Dean's work; the earth from the fragile album and the "ship", as well as the Wizard (from one of Uriah Heap's albums as I recall). He did an outstanding job of placing them into space and incorporating some of his own stylings within it as well. It was done in acrylic paints and I REALLY wish I still had that!

(Wonder if the ex still has it?)

Root canal finished for now, go back in five or six weeks to have it redone. Hope that is the end of it. The new guy is more aggressive in his treatment that the previous one. Vicodin is good

Oh, there is two kinds of warm water workouts.  Warm water therapy which really helped my back.  And there is warm warm water aerobic exercise classes.  It is low impact exercise.   The class leader leads you through all kinds of exercises.  I have a lot of older women in the class in fact I'm the only guy.

If you got a sore ankle, bad knee, bad leg, weak foot, sore hip or lower back problems that 4 feet of warm water sure feels good and you can still exercise with the low impact.  Each session is a hour long and you get a good workout.

I was just reading about water therapy for running injuries. In a nutshell, I'd still run, but in water. I didn't make the connection. You can bet if I get an injury that I ask for that.

Dang, guess I was lucky with the 5 I had.  I went right back to work and didn't require any pain medication.  Heck, to me it was a piece of cake after they got the root out and didn't have to numb it anymore for the rest of the procedure.  I had 3 jaw teeth and two upper front teeth done.  Not sure I could do that now that I'm older though.

I have had several root canals and only two have bothered me, this one isn't as bad as the other. But this is the third procedure on this tooth (it keeps getting re infected). This time he packed it with an antibiotic and I have to go back, have that taken out and the permanent stuff put in if the infection is gone. If it isn't I will have it pulled as further treatment is unlikely to be successful.
