Martina McBride - "In My Daughter's Eyes"    :-[

I love that song. It makes me sad too 'cause I'll never ever live up to what I want my daughter to see.

It makes me sad because my daughter would have been 9 years old on this upcoming Tuesday.  Why do I torture myself?

I can't even begin to imagine the loss of a child. I honestly can't think of anything more devastating. Everyone says that time will make losing someone...easier...but I don't think so. I think you'll always miss them. Especially your child.

I agree with you.  It never gets easier ... you just learn to go about your life and deal with the void.  Some days, it's tolerable ... some days, it's not.

Indeed. 19 years later I still find this to be very true. About the only thing that changes is your ability to get through it without negatively impacting those around you; but even now that can sometimes be very challenging. . . :'(

I'm sorry for your loss.

It took a long time for me to get to the point to where I #1 didn't blame myself; #2 could continue to be a good mother to my older child; #3 not cry every time I saw another baby.

My younger sister gave birth to her baby girl 2 months after I gave birth to mine.  The difference?  Hers was alive.  I tried to be happy.  I even threw her a baby shower ... and ended up outside crying the whole time.

Who will ever understand why a child would be taken off the face of the earth .. never getting to live his/her life.  Some people are just evil and live to a ripe old age!  It doesn't seem fair.  I choose to believe that these children are just too special to be forced to endure the troubles and evils of the world.  Maybe that is my comfort.

I understand where you're coming from to an extent. I had a miscarriage early in my pregnancy. We we're sooo excited when we found out we were going to have a baby. It took us a while to get pregnant. It took me a week to lose my baby. I don't know why but my body just didn't want to let go. Then we found out the chances of a full term baby were very slim, and after surviving that nightmare, we didn't want to try again. Even the loss of an early pregnancy is devastating. My child would have been 9 last May. You always think about the what ifs.  :'(

I am in bed (he-he) listening to my i-pod. It is a book by John Scalzi, The name is The Ghost Brigades. It was advertised as a "stand alone" book and I guess it is but..... I am glad I read Old Mans War first because there are a few walk on characters from this book in his new book.
