Are the Christian God and the Muslim Allah the same deity?

I was channel surfing and I saw that fuckin' idiot Gary Bauer from the Family Research Council speaking at the Value Voters Conference.  :rolleyes:

He stated, while quoting the Declaration of Independence, "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator ... and folks, that's not Allah!!"  He then received a standing ovation for that lil' remark.

My question is, on what does he base that comment?  Time and again, I hear people say that God and Allah aren't the same god.  From where does that pervasive belief come?

Clearly you and I agree on that Troll.  However, I'm asking the question about those who do believe that God and Allah aren't the same.  What is the basis for that argument?  Does David Bauer have historical or Biblical evidence to support that point of view, or is he simply spewing baseless rhetoric to inflame the ignorant masses?

The Christian God of the Old Testament isn't the same as the Christian God of the New Testament. Really. Read the frickin' book.

  Yeah, God is a good actor, the played Jesus, he played the holy ghost, he played a burning bush, he played a cloud and a bright light leading the Jews, plus I think he played the snake in the garden of Eden and a half ass acting job as a God.

I thought of this question yesterday when two other soccer mom's were having a religious discussion.

One mom was basically trying to say that she isn't sure about any deity or what its name would be. The other mom said that it's most definately "God" and asked which church she attends. The 1st lady said that she doesn't attend church anymore but had gone to a private Catholic school. The 2nd lady then decided to insult Catholics by saying that they ruin religion and the understanding of Christianity because they discourage bible reading. She used the 1st woman's uncertainty to prove her point saying that if she had been truely educated in Christianity, then she'd know. The breaking point for me was when the 1st woman said, "I don't believe there is a devil" and the 2nd woman started talking loudlyover her (while she tried to further explain) that there is indeed a devil. She near shouted it at least 3 times. I was giggling to myself at this point at how hysterical the 2nd mom was getting, but believe it or not, remained silent. The 2nd mom is too far gone and it would have been a waste of time. I think the 1st mom came to that realization about this time and started to walk off and the 2nd mom said, "You're running out of time; he's coming back soon." :biggrin:

I find the muslim assertion that Christians,Jews and Muslims all serve the same God,with the name Allah as just an arab name for God.

However, the book of exodus is very interesting on this issue:-

"...And God said to Moses, I AM WHO I AM and WHAT I AM, and I WILL BE WHAT I WILL BE; and He said, You shall say to the Israelites: I AM Has sent me to you!

God said also to Moses, This shall you say to the Israelites; The lord, the God of your fathers, of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, has sent me to you! This is My name forever,and by this name i am to be remembered to all generations ( Amplified bible-exodus 3;14-15,itallics added)

Notice what God Himself,The God of Moses says "This is my name forever..." So much for Allah! Also notice in Malachi 3:6:-

"..For i am the lord, I do not change; that is why you, O sons of Jacob, are not consumed...."Amplified translation

The Prophet Muhammad longed for the Medinan Jews to accept Him in the succesion of their prophets, something that they reasonably refused.The Surah of the Cow is a testament to the Prophets anger at their denial of him.

Christianity differs from Judaism in its assertion that Jesus is The Son of God who has come in the flesh.It claims He is the Messiah,something that God must prove to the Jewish nation in Christ's second coming.Alot of Prophecies from the new testament period clarify Christianity's assertions, but God has left the messianic prophecies to be fulfilled at His choosing.

Islam makes alot of claims, but anyone who researches into The Prophet's utterances will be puzzled by the "satanic verses", sections of the koran that assert the prophet's calling for the worship of heathen goddesses.Who were the source of the prophet's utterances? i do not know.He claims to have seen spirits tear up his insides in a vision once witnessed by his mother, as if the spirits were looking for something.Quite horrifying if you ask me.

The bible says:-

"..for satan masquerades as an angel of light..." Hmmmmm.......
