The Troll

On April 23, 2008, Secretary of Defense Gates announced that President Bush was nominating General Petraeus to command U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM), headquartered in Tampa, Florida. The nomination required, and received, Senate confirmation.

Interesting that you see his assignment as negative, instead of the positive it is. . .

I remember somebody was saying the words, General Berayus.  But from what I had read that he was a great general.

Who the nuts were that were calling him names I don't know.  Everybody has Nuts Cases in their party.  Look and the Republican's, they have the Teabaggers, their religious and crazy.

This type of message comes from the same bunch that is saying the POTUS deliberately caused the oil leak in the gulf.

They need to put the crack pipe down!

I see it as a positive but surely you remember all the grief Bush got for choosing him.

Bush got grief for wiping his ass with the constitution and lying. Anything he did after that was suspect.

We'll see how the confirmation hearings go. . . IF they ever get to them. . .

If the Republican walk in goose step as usal, we got enough Democrats that will vote him in.  No Problem.  We got to do something.

You hard headed old fart the Republicans have already chosen him once why wouldn't they do it again?  It was the Dems who didn't like him when Bush chose him.

Sure they would 'cause they know that will get everyone upset at Obama since he had been Bush's man too.

Did  that sound better in your head?

I see it as a positive but surely you remember all the grief Bush got for choosing him.

The epithet appeared in an ad in the New York Times on Sept. 10, 2007, purchased by MoveOn.org. It directly addressed a report given by the General lauding the progress in Iraq. The report was unrealistically sunny, but the General was only following orders.

This was back when the Pentagon had that bizarre equation for counting casualties -- for example, it's only an assassination if the bullet goes into the back of the head, not the front.

http://voices.washingtonpost.com/fact-checker/2007/09/general_betray_us.html

The epithet, in the form of "Senator Betray-Us" was first used by that jolly joker, Rush Limbaugh, to attack Sen. Chuck Hagel, a decorated Nam vet.

If the NY Daily News was a reliable news source and not a tabloid, I might believe they said that and then I'd agree with you.
