DEARBORN, Mich. -- Ford Motor Co.'s board of directors today agreed to end production of its Mercury brand by the end of this year.
Ford plans to make up for the lost sales by expanding its luxury Lincoln brand. Mercury sold more than 92,000 vehicles last year.

Isn't it a shame.  Owned three Oldsmobiles, gone and  4 Mercuries.  Everyone a great car.  Fast and beautiful.

But the days of sedans are over.  To low and too hard to get in.  My wife own a little Ford Escape, great mileage and can park it any where and easy to get into.  Then my big truck.  Ford F250 Super Duty, crew cab with a V - 10.  Pull  your house down the road at 80 miles per hour.  Inside as nice as any car.  Gas, now that's another thing.
