and YOU are an example of Illusory superiority.....to a TEE!

Not at all.  I'm fully aware that there are people that are better looking than I am, smarter, better educated, richer, understand politics or business or economics better than I do, have bigger dicks, etc.  You damn sure aren't one of them and the difference between you and me is that I defer to those people who know moer than I do rather than try to pretend they don't.  That's how learning works.
Arguing with Christians is like playing chess with a pigeon.  No matter how good I am at chess, the pigeon is just going to knock over the pieces, shit on the board and strut around like it's victorious.

The truth is slow, but relentless. Over time it becomes irresistible.

That is where you are wrong.  I have nothing but respect for those who are capable of offering wisdom and advise on numerous topics....and YOU damn sure aren't one of them.  RESPECT being the key word there.

Here's more BS from the Fux News gang trying to perfume the pig and spin what's going on into something more positive than it really is.  This also attempts to paint the Tea Party assholes in a better light than they deserve as well.  They've decided that they're not going to call it a 'shutdown' but rather define a new term called 'slimdown' and then use it all over their website.

Well seriously, it is NOT really a GOVERNMENT SHUT-DOWN. Most of our Government is running, and will continue to do so.

Ask those government employees who rely on their paychecks to get by if they feel 'slimmed down' or 'shut down.'    I also don't think it's 'most' either.   Everything is shut down save essential services.

It will be a like short vacation for them.  The vast majority of them will be compensated for the time off.  THAT is also a risk they take when they are employed by the government.

Paying government employees for not working sounds like a great way to save money!

Quit with the hostage bullshit....Congress is actually doing what many Americans WANT.  Trying to get SOMETHING done that quits F'ing us.
Repubs WON control of Congress THEY are doing what they agreed to do. Be a voice for THEIR constituents.

Here's a quote (direct and verbatim) from one of those "Americans" you feel so entitled to speak for:

Tonight I am ashamed to be an American. These elected officials are playing a terrible round poker using the constitution that I swore to protect as their card table and the livelihood of their constituents as their chips. Change will only come when we elect a Congress who can put aside their party's ideals and make decisions that will be best for all of America, not just their major donors.

And another from his wife:

I find it hilarious that people think a government shutdown isn't important by the posts I have read this morning. I also find it funny the people that post disrespectful pictures of Obama on FB like this was all on him. You are a sad bunch of individuals . But I guess since you aren't losing your paycheck for god knows how long, you can act like its no big deal.

So now tell me again how this insidious game the GOP is playing is what "many Americans WANT". And while you're at it, please explain how this isn't "fucking" us?

You do realize the impact these ongoing shenanigans are having upon governmental supplies and contractors, such as the one I work for? No? Here's a sample from my own company:

No raises in 2013

No Hiring in 2013. (Even for headcount lost via attrition). NONE.

A complete freeze on all travel and capital expenditures. (Emergency spending must first be approved at the top levels of corporate structure; before spending.)

And if this shutdown lasts a week, we can expect sweeping reduction in force measures to be implemented across all divisions globally.

Multiply that by the number of governmental contractors and you will begin to partially understand the implications of this bullshit.

On top of that, do you even care about the tens of thousands of our military personnel (reservists) that hold government civilian positions?

For the record, the quotes above were from my son and his wife. My son is in his second decade as an active member of the USN.
