Why continue to waste my time casting pearls before swine?

Especially when the swine won't do a modicum of research on their own and learn something for once.

They are playing politics with not only with the future of our country but the immediate livelihood of thousands of people! There's no way to justify it. Simply put its bullshit.
And that is why I feel Reid should have stayed as well as Obama and they should have all gotten together and done some negotiating instead of Reid and Obama running off pouting because they didn't get their way.  Obama should have called them into session, not a behind closed doors thing like he did when they were trying to pass the bill, and had it televised to see who wanted what and why not just watching Obama giving a stump speech on TV saying he would veto the bill if it came across his desk and wasn't exactly as presented with no changes.
PH you never did answer my question about if you thought taxing medical devices was a good idea.  Of course that question is open to anyone else too.  That is part of the bill which was removed.

Do you even know why the medical device tax was included in the health care act to begin with?

To get money to help fund the HCB.  Do you think it was a good idea?  Now if you're gonna pull that excessive profit thing out of your hat forget it because that won't wash.

Of course it was to help pay for the HCB, and yes I think it's a good idea.

What I would like to know is, who are the moneyed people, the health insurance moguls who are standing in the shadows supporting Ted Cruz and his lackeys in their war against the health law.

Why?  Who do you think will end up absorbing those costs in the long run?

Because Congress designed the ACA in a manner such that it wouldn't increase the deficit.   In order to help pay for the expansion of health care to the people who don't have it, the ACA increases taxes on companies who will benefit (profit) from the reform that the ACA provides.  These companies are going to benefit from the ACA because of increased demand for their products.  So the ACA imposes a 2.3% excise tax on those devices to help offset the cost of healthcare expansion.

It really does make sense if you think about it.

No, it doesn't.  Who do you think will ultimately end up absorbing those costs?  If all this had been thought out so well why are they having problems even getting this thing implemented?  Rates are going up as well as the deductibles for a lot of people, companies are moving people to part time who had been full time, some people already have been cut off from medicine they need, I have a friend with MS that has happened to, and some places who had been offering coverage are dropping it altogether because of costs.  If this is delayed a year all this can be worked out so it doesn't hurt people.  Oh, and most states don't even have insurance exchanges because there is no one qualified to run them.  And what about the IRS and that mess fining people who don't have coverage?  That isn't even in place yet.

Conservative obstructionism.

QuoteRates are going up as well as the deductibles for a lot of people...

And they didn't do this before the ACA?

When will these fucking republican-conservative idiots get it through their heads that this is SUPPOSED to be about funding the government and NOT the ACA?!

How many times do they have to be told that any bill to fund the government that includes anything regarding the ACA, (AKA: Pork), will be declined, have those same provisions (Pork) removed, and be sent back?

They are idiots!

The ACA was passed by congress; PERIOD. Take your sour-grapes attitudes and shove them up your rear-ends! You LOST, get over it!

No, you are going to hold American Citizens hostage to your misguided political ideals. It was wrong each time you have done this in the past by holding Unemployment benefits hostage, and it is WRONG now!

All I have to say is that you jackwagons had better remember that the voting American public have a VERY long memory, and each time you do this it increases the likelihood that those of you in congress will be in the unemployment lines after the mid-term elections!

They need to get the figures on the deductibles for and cost of the good old "Obama care" that is supposed to be helping the poor be able to afford insurance.  I think they're about to find out exactly why the house wanted this delayed for a year too.  I know they will somehow twist it all around though since they just can't seem to face the truth about the coveted HCB.

How about you supply us with those figures since you pretend to know so much about them?
