EUCLID, Ohio (AP) — Campaigning in the backyard of America's auto industry, Mitt Romney re-ignited the bailout debate by suggesting he deserves "a lot of credit" for the recent successes of the nation's largest car companies.
That claims comes in spite of his stance that Detroit should have been allowed to go bankrupt.
The presumptive Republican presidential nominee told a Cleveland television station on Monday that President Barack Obama followed his lead when he ushered auto companies through a managed bankruptcy soon after taking office.
"I pushed the idea of a managed bankruptcy, and finally when that was done, and help was given, the companies got back on their feet," Romney said in an interview inside a Cleveland-area auto parts maker. "So, I'll take a lot of credit for the fact that this industry has come back."

If he pushed for the bailout I'd say, yes, he was wrong but I do fail to see how he can take credit for anything that had to do with any of that.

That's just it; he can't.  That's a flat out lie.

Speaking of bailouts, I wonder if we'll hear anything about this on Faux News:

WASHINGTON—The U.S. government may wind up posting a profit of more than $15 billion from the rescue of American International Group Inc., according to an independent projection released Monday.

The report by the Government Accountability Office, the investigative arm of Congress, highlighted how one of the most expensive and most unpopular bailouts of the 2008 financial crisis has turned out far better for the government than initially expected.

The GAO said that, as several aid efforts for AIG wind down and the company's finances improve, the government is likely to turn a substantial profit.

The government "could receive total returns of approximately $15.1 billion in excess of the assistance provided," the GAO report said.

Damn government getting into peoples' lives.

Don't ya just hate that?

What's that?

It worked?

So government bailouts and spending worked a helluva lot better that England, France, and Greece did with their conservative deep spending cuts, etc.?

Oh, well then, I'll just jump in and try to take credit for it, too.

Yeah, that's the ticket.

Ahem. "I SUPPORTED THE GOVERNMENT BAILOUT OF GM. I'LL TAKE CREDIT FOR THAT."

(Don't worry, they're too stupid to question it. They'll vote for me. After all, I'm Mitt, the job saver, Romney.)
Ignorance and fanaticism are ravenous. They require constant feeding.

                    The Troll Poll

Lugar loses to Mourdoch in a big way.  I took a poll of the old women at the warm water swimming hole at the health center and they all voted for Mourdoch.

I ask why and one gray hair said, heck he's 80 years old and hasn't done one thing since he been in.  Another gray hair said that she had to hold her nose and voted for Mourdoch.  I said I didn't like him because of his Tea Party affiliation.  She said that is why she had to hold her nose.  But Lugar had been in too long and needed to go.

               :fireworks:  Mourdoch wins  :fireworks:

I seen something on television last night that really pissed me off.  But it another game the religious right screws us.

Romney has gave millions of dollars to the Mormon church and takes it off his taxes.  Guess what?  The rest of us has to make up the difference in tax paid to the government that old Mitt doesn't have to pay.

Just think the religious right milk the government out of taxes every year.  All of the church property is tax free.  Free fire service,  free police protection, free road to travel to it, no taxes on telephone, no sales taxes, just no taxes do they have to pay.  Yet the wingnuts want to tell us how we are going to live.

I'm sick of it, let's tax the churches for everything they got.  It sure isn't doing me any good in any way.  If they want to play politics let's TAX THE ASSHOLES.  :haha:  tax them  :haha:   tax them  :haha:

Tea Party Repugnicans voted Lugar out. Big deal. When it comes to the general election the population of this state will remember just exactly what it is that the tea party has accomplished; obstructionist governance on the backs of the poor; while simultaneously groveling at the feet of the rich.

This alone should assure the defeat of the winner in this race come November. . .

Can't you just feel the marriages getting stronger in North Carolina today thanks to the knuckle dragging idiots that passed Amendment One?

What I don't get is how a small majority of knuckle head Christian assholes can vote against someone else Constitutional right of the right of freedom in their life.

How can a group of homophobics keep their foot on the throat of gay people in America.  How these small minded with homophobia can think that two gay people getting married will affect their own marriage.  Total religious bigottry.

Surely this is a crime against the American Constitution and all of these laws should be put down once and for all.    :4th3:
