No, capital gains is income and should be taxed at the same rate as any other form of income.

Unearned income.

If the deceased got to use the money there would be no more taxes.  Why should someone who receives that money (income) with out paying taxes on it.  All the money I make I pay taxes on it.

But it sure gets me to hear someone bitch about paying $100 for a house they didn't pay a dime in it.  Greedy, Greedy, Greedy.

Here in Indiana each heir doesn't have to pay taxes if they get less than $100,000.      Something for nothing.

So when and if your son ever inherits your house he should be happy to pay inheritance taxes. And her house was worth much less than $100,000. Better read up on it.

Don't tell me read up on it.  My dad died just 2 years ago and I know what my sisters and I got and we know what the law is.

The way we have our estate arranged he won't have any taxes to pay.  I think you need to get an estate lawyer and wise you up.  I been there and done that.  Right now the only people who have to pay any inheritance tax is the super rich.  That's why the Republican Party wants to do away with inheritance tax  As you know we have to protect the job creators.  :haha: :haha:

Bible toting Tea Party politician surfaced form drug treatment Tuesday from drug treatment to answer charges he traded cocaine and drugs at a bed bug infested motel.

The Tea Party Mogul had been trading the illegal goods for months with the now jailed prostitute.  :haha:  Well, I never seen where you can't buy sex with cocaine in the Bible.  Caught with his Bibical pants down.

It was a few years after that when the inheritance tax was changed to a minimum amount.  I'm thinking the early to mid 90's.  Last I knew it was anything over $250 thousand but nothing below.

I think it depends a lot on your relationship to the person who died. I think a spouse doesn't pay anything, but the further away you get relationship wise the tax increases.

Hawk, I have never seen anyone more selfish than you or :me: .  You guys sure have your head up your ass.  I hope there is something in the Universe what will keep fucking Republicans from getting full control like they have here in Indiana.  :groan:

Indiana hang on to your ass, you voted in the Republican bastard in and if your not rich, your next.  :zoners:    :trustme:

Troll, you got me to do a little investigation this morning........lets just take a look at the Best States for business and the worst states for business and their correlation to which "party" is in charge of that particular state.

According to more than 500 CEOs that considered a wide range of criteria, from taxation and regulation to workforce quality and living environment, they did thier annual ranking of the best states for business.

Then, I went to Wiki and got the list of which party was in control of those states....

They went like this:

Top 10 best states for business:
1. Texas - Republican controlled legislator
2. North Carolina - Republican controlled legislator
3. Florida - Republican controlled legislator
4. Tennesee - Republican controlled legislator
5. Georgia - Republican controlled legislator
6. INDIANA - Republican controlled legislator
7. Virginia - Republican controlled legislator
8. South Carolina - Republican controlled legislator
9. Utah - Republican controlled legislator
10. Neveda - Democrat controlled legislator

The 10 Worst States for Business:
1. California - Democrat controlled legislator
2. New York - Democrat controlled legislator
3. Illinois - Democrat controlled legislator
4. New Jersey - Democrat controlled legislator
5. Michigan - Republican controlled legislator
6. Massachusetts - Democrat controlled legislator
7. Conneticut - Democrat controlled legislator
8. Hawaii - Democrat controlled legislator
9. West Virginia - Democrat controlled legislator
10. Ohio - Republican controlled legislator

I think this speaks volume about republican leadership vs. democrat leadership when it comes to producing States with a great workforce quality and  good living environments.....a state where business' prosper along with the citizens.

so btw, INDIANA was 6th on the list for BEST STATES...and that occured under republican controlled action by the state....
Just sayin...

Just for fun, you should research which among those states in either of your lists benefit most from federal income support programs and which benefit least.

10. Neveda - $800

and average of $980 of median per capita of Federal Aid ... I also will add, all of these states are "right to work" states.

You showed the federal aid given to state and local governments, not federal income support programs like unemployment, social security, medicaid, etc.

funny stuff....ha ha...but, lets not get off of the topic to far..

All of the info I provided, as YOU requested, says quite a bit about the "STATE of  AFFAIRS" in states by repubs and dems.
Getting back to Trolls "beef" with repubs...and I pointed out, that the Indiana repubs has done a great job at keeping indiana strong in business and away from federal aid.
