. . .Cripes. . . Aren't you one of the people who were hoisting up a corporate CEO as a very viable candidate?

Heck yes, I would MUCH rather have someone who has REAL life experience in owning and running a business, than someone who is/was a lawyer and a senator.  Someone who understands how government effects business...and what business need to expand and grow.  The economy must get fixed first and foremost, because everything else won't mean squat if we collapse.

Taking over a company, firing its workers and selling off its assets is pretty much the antithesis of expansion and growth.

Humm. . .  seems like you think the lions share of our presidents were the same then.

Interestingly, the two listing "business" as an occupation are responsible for the most irresponsible  administrations in history!

Fixing the economy means the repugnican party is going to have to say yes instead of no!

You always bring up the so called promises you said that Obama made.  Do you honestly believe that all of the promises that these Republican candidates have made will come true.  If you do you're completely nuts.

Bring back jobs good paying jobs, $2 gasoline, manned colony's on the moon, peace in Israel, balanced budget in 4 years, saving and improving Social Security and war with Iran, now I can believe the last one.  It's all :bs: and all that I can say is,

Nope! But I think many of the ideas they want will create more jobs, lower gas, and at least USE a budget that MIGHT turn us back in the right direction.
the direction we are going now is NOT creating more jobs or lowering our gas....and we have had NO budget since the dems took over....and our deficit is doubling...
So.....It is time for the pendulam to swing back to the right......

I'd be interested in hearing what experience Henry thinks this clown had that qualified him to be the POTUS.

It must have been that sliver split tongue (like in snake) and the Teflon overcoat he wore.

Actually, being an actor uniquely qualified Reagan for the presidency so that he could play whatever role he was told to by his corporate puppeteers.

Easy, he was a two-term governor of the most populated state in the nation.....where he turned a $194 million deficit into a $550 million surplus!!  There he learned how to work with democrats and became a powerful communicator.

a pretty gosh darn good resume'...

He did that by raising taxes several times, the first of which was a $1 billion increase ($17 billion in today's dollars) or the equivalent of one third of the state's tax revenues at the time.

Hmmmm.... I wonder what the answer will be to that?

As president, Reagan "raised taxes in seven of his eight years in office," including four times in just two years.

During the Reagan years, the debt increased to nearly $3 trillion, "roughly three times as much as the first 80 years of the century had done altogether."

Unemployment jumped to 10.8 percent after Reagan enacted his much-touted tax cut, and it took years for the rate to get back down to its previous level.

You good people know that the Senate wrote a good bill to stop inside trading by the congressmen and congresswomen.  But guess what happen when it went to the Republican controlled House of Representives?  :jester:  :jester:   :jester:

Do to the excess lobbying by K Street and others involved.  The Republican watered down the bill to the point where it doesn't amount to shit.  It's like putting one teabag into one gallon of hot water.  Good old Republican weak tea.  Don't you love the Greedy Bastards.

Henry Hawk

The House bill passed with a 417-2 vote ....c'mon Troll.......it was two repubs that voted against it....ALL of the Dems voted for it.

now it will go back to a House-Senate conference, and they can fight it out....the way they should.

Oh, see, you're talking about the 11 times he raised taxes as the president, I was still on his record of numerous tax increases as governor.  If we've moved on to his accomplishments at the national level, lets not forget funding and training Al Quaeda and the Taliban, illegal weapons sales to Iran and funding the Contras!  Such a national hero!
