The rich got their tax breaks extended and just like the previous years, NO jobs resulted.

Giving them more or continuing the same is what the conservatives are asking for. Einstein said, "Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result is the definition of insanity". And he is right!

Anyone with a modicum of "common sense" can see how the supreme court of the US is siding with the almighty corporation; giving them constitutional rights without requiring that they operate within them, giving them a voice in our government by allowing them to "buy"  our congressional leadership via campaign contributions without limitation.

The thing I find most frustrating is how these same corporations have a growing number of the common men and women fooled into believing their propaganda.

I still say raising the tax on those at $250,000 is a HUGE mistake......raising the tax three or four percent on the super millinaires....I have no problem with.

The democrats probably would have won this one, if they pushed, but they didn't....

Obama himself, along with top economist, just not too long ago stated that raising taxes in a struggling economy is "the last thing you want to do."

There was no raise in taxes for these people despite the arguments for or against it. And still no jobs.

And before you start spewing about the taxes on business, these SAME people (250k and up) enjoy a current moratorium on capital gains tax as well as other tax breaks, that are in place to encourage small business growth, and still - no jobs.

The democrats would NEVER have won this one because the party of no would not allow it to happen. You know that as well as I do. We saw MONTHS long stalling and filibustering, that unbelievably increased as the deadline loomed for the end of the tax breaks!

The POTUS has NO choice but to compromise on things in order to TRY to keep this country from collapsing. The conservative party is doing everything they can to make this POTUS look bad, even if it means the ruination of their own citizens.

Yes, things are getting worse but you want to know why? It's because the stimulus package, designed to keep people working, is running OUT! And because of all this stalling and political posturing NOTHING got done during the period of time the stimulus was designed to provide congress in order to fix things.

The majority of the job losses we are seeing this year are in the government sectors, city, state, and federal. And while the meager job growth we have seen is actually in the private sector, it still demonstrates that these tax cuts have done NOTHING to spur job growth!
