Troll, when you CUT spending, Cut Taxes and balance our budget, that is motivating consumer confidence...the private sector will begin to spend and create jobs.  It is really simple....Reagan DID this. Our economy thrived.
Also, troll, I DID say earlier, that I would raise taxes on imports from other countries, maybe I should have said Tariffs, but I agree with you on this and I have said so for a long time now....we need to even the playing field on those Countries....

The proposal from the bipartisan commission to reduce the federal deficit is suggesting that spending be cut and taxes be raised.

The two heads of the commission called for reducing benefits and raising the retirement age for the Social Security retirement pension program, as well as setting limits on the popular Medicare program for the elderly and disabled, cutting payments to drugmakers and giving more power to a health cost-control board.

They proposed raising the gasoline tax gradually by 15 cents beginning in 2013; limiting the mortgage interest tax deduction and charitable deductions; cutting defense spending; and reducing corporate and individual tax rates.

Capital gains and dividends would be taxed as ordinary income, while budget cuts would be phased in beginning in fiscal 2012 to prevent a shock to the economy.

While I don't expect to have to like an idea which will bail us out of this mess, I mean obviously it's going to take a commitment on the part of all Americans...there isn't a magic wand...why these things? There are SO many frivolous places the government could cut spending and reduce the tax burden that's going to be required to get us out of this debt.

Okay, I just think that raising taxes during a down economy is BAD thing to do......we need to spur the economy, to increase federal revenue....raising taxes will not excite the entrepreneurs to expand and grow....it is just common sense....imo

  I have been asked what would you do to get American back on the road again.  Well here is a few.

  1. Stop the two damn wars that George W. got us into and didn't finish.

  2. Complete the Regulations on wall street and the banks and corporations to keep the thieves from robbing us again.  Stop corporate welfare and tax deductions to companies sending jobs over seas and out of country.

  3. Renegotiate all trade treaties using UAW, United States Steel workers, AF of L and the other union trained contracts negotiators to redo the treaties.  The Washington egg heads sure did a poor job.  I think the union would kick ass.  If the countries didn't want to redo them.  Anything they ship in will have a tariff equal of what it would cost to make it here in the states.  The same thing goes for American companies that out source their products.  No more slave made products sent into the country.

  4. Stop all foreign aid.  Stop loaning money to the world bank.

  5. Go after the people who are not paying taxes by working under the table and by just avoidance.  With high fines and jail time.

   6 Go after the people, companies, hospitals, doctors anyone ripping off Medicare and Medicade.  With huge fines and jail
time.

   7. Stop farm subsidies to farm over 200 acres.

   8.  Fine and jail all people that hire illegal aliens.  Period.

   You guys got any more.

  Add some more on number seven.   No farm subsidies to land owner who do not operate their farms.  If  you don't farm it and your rent you land out, no farm subsidies.  Because you are not a farmer.  To many banks and corporations own the land and rent it out.  They are not farmers.  It is one big con game.
