You know troll, those jobs are gone. What are the chances of them coming back short of every third world country nationalizing every factory in their country. A cold war with China will do nothing to change anything. The jobs are in Mexico, Germany and other countries. If you aren't making good money you can't buy expensive items. When we were young, you could raise a family on one income if you wanted to. It is very difficult to do that now, a lot of people have trouble getting by on two incomes, some their own fault and some not. An extra $100 for a set of tires would be out of reach. If you are talking about import taxes, I agree with you but it does not address the problem of good paying jobs and raising the price of imported goods will not lower the price of American made goods.

"me" wanted an objective response re: racism. IMO, people who have to explain why or how they're not racists, more than likely are.

Anne that's the problem these people don't have a job or a job so low paying that they have to shop for foreign goods, which causes more people in this country to lose their jobs which cause more Americans lose their jobs.  This has happen over and over and over and you surly see where we are now.

I would like to see all of our people work, making a more money paying a little more for their products, than scrapping along starving, making starvation wages or not have a job at all.

The only people who benefits with bringing in foreign products into this country is, that foreign country and the business people and the corportions.  Walmart for one.  The people who are getting rich is the rich and the corporations.  The middle class is getting the shaft.  Can't you see that buying foreign good is suicide for the American way of life.

Anne just tell me.  What do you do for America when you buy a foreign product?  Tell me 3 things that it does for the people, the working people and the country.  I really waiting for this answer.

Anne

Depends on what you are buying. Buy something made in USA by a foreign owned company, Americans have jobs. Buy something made in another country by an American owned company and only the company wins. Don't get me wrong, I would love to see all the manufacturing jobs come back to the US, but that will not happen unless all the other countries that were given the jobs make it too costly for the companies to operate there. I buy American when I can, but it is hard to find a lot of stuff that is really all American.

You say that if you buy something made by a foreign company here in America it means American jobs.  Well, all you are doing is paying for the actual labor in that product.  No American engineers are used.  Now no higher level management is American.  No American clerical workers are need.  Now here is the kicker.  ALL OF THE PROFITS GO OVERSEAS.  ALL OF THE PROFIT GONE.  Now money left here in America for other investments.

It's just like Walmart does to cities in Indiana.  They pay the lowest wages possible.  They even tell their poor paid workers how to take advantage of the taxpayers by getting free medical help.  Then put all of the small stores out of business.  Then they TAKE ALL OF THE PROFITS BACK TO ARKANSAS.  Leaving no money left in the city for more investment here.  All of the big box stores are guilty of this.   And they do it with foreign made products.  True American Corporations.

Are you telling me you don't see what they are doing to us.  Just look at the shape this country is in.  Free trade is one of the main cause and the criminals are the next.

Geeze, troll, think about it, if an American is working making a product (hammers) then at least those people are working, better than foreign company/foreign manufacturing, right? As for American companies you can't be sure they will reinvest their profits in the US, esp. if they are manufacturing goods overseas. I agree, ideally it would be best for the country if we had American owned companies manufacturing their goods here in the US. That isn't happening and won't happen short of the government banning all imports for starters. Any guesses on who has the guts to do that? IMO service jobs cannot sustain a country, maybe I am wrong, but it seems like that is where the US is heading. We'v sold off our technology to the highest bidders without regard to our own future and now we have to figure out a way to keep things together for our grandchildren.

Troll, what do you not understand about Walmart is not putting mom and pop places out of business?  If someone doesn't have the money to shop at a mom and pop store they weren't shopping there in the first place and if they do they will continue to shop there because of the atmosphere and service they get from a smaller business.  Admit it, you just hate Wally world 'cause they won't have anything to do with unions.

Oh, that part of the problem.  They are a scab employer.   They sell shit.  But don't you tell me they don't shut down small business.  Look at down town Noblesville, downtown Anderson and look of the internet what a evil company they are.

Look at all of the law suits against and all of the money they payed of the mistreatment of their workers.

Any  company that has a turn over of employees of over 52%, they have to be one hell of a bad company.

Sure I'm pro union.  But what I can't understand why you hate unions so bad.  That one husband, of many and you had was a Iron Worker and while you were with him you surly took advantage of all of the benefits.  You never have been a union member, so what you got against them.  For one  thing you don't know a god damn thing about them.  Only in your tiny brain.

You know when I told that the UAW president split $60 million with the 5 Ford Executives.  I  lied, the President of the UAW makes $143,000 a year.  I think it a good deal for him and me.  I sure like the pension I got and the benefits.

OUR MAN MITCH SUCKS AND HIS PARTY TOO.

It seem that the State of Indiana was caught with their hand in the cookie jar.  Every time the govenment raised the amount of food stamp for the really poor, the State of Indiana reduced the amount of benifits they recieved, so their food alotment was never over $200 a month.  Hell, that probably what :me: spends a month eating out.

WE sure have black hearted Republican in state government and they broke a Federal law when they did it.  I wonder what this will cost the taxpayers.  The dumbasses.

The federal government has levied a $1.2 million penalty against Indiana's human services agency for miscalculating food stamp benefits at a rate more than one-and-a-half times the national average last year, state officials learned Thursday.. . .

. . .The federal Food and Nutrition Service said FSSA, in running the food stamp program for USDA in Indiana, overpaid in 5.45 percent of cases and underpaid in 1.68 of cases. That's a combined error rate of 7.13 percent, or more than 1.5 times the national average of 4.36 percent.
FNS also said Indiana erred in 13.69 percent of cases when it came to denying benefits or granting eligibility. The national average was 9.41 percent.. . .

Indiana has an unemployment rate above the national average, but its welfare rolls are getting smaller. Why? Indiana has some of the toughest eligibility rules and smallest benefits in the nation, state officials say.
"You have to be poorer than poor," said Jim Dunn, policy manager for Indiana's Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program, which provides cash aid. "Even though Indiana has been hit hard with the employment loss, anyone who continues to get unemployment benefits has too much income to qualify for cash assistance in Indiana."

A family of three can't earn more than $378 a month in Indiana to get cash assistance from the federal-state program. Only Alabama, Arkansas and Louisiana have stricter limits. . .

Are you high?

The city council of San Diego has voted against Super Walmarts indefinitely because of that very concern. If a population the size of San Diego can't support a Walmart and mom and pop places, what do you think Walmart does to smaller communities?

You know it really pisses me off, when the dumbasses screw up, do something that is absolutely illegal and are never punished or loose their jobs.  Then the taxpayers get in the ass for their mistake.   $1.2 million.   Take in out of their checks.

But can you imagine someone being so damn cheap, black hearted and cruel, that every time they get a little more for food the damn SOB cut the state allotment.  So they only get $200 a month for food.   ARBEIT MCHT FREI,  may work set you free.  A sign over the Auschwitz death camp and they do it our state.   Bless the Republicans, they would let people starve to death too.  The Republican's are doing it in Washington now.

After all the things I said, and that's all you got to say.  WOW!!!!!!   Do you have any defense for hatchet job your precious Fox News did on Shirley Sherrod.  Yeah, the Republican Party sure takes care of the women.  Especially after John Boehner (Boner) called the equal pay for women, "A cruel hoax"?!

But then again why pay them (women) more, when you can pay less.  Right?  :wall:
