It is to the point where I no longer watch any news on television, and I scan the other genres for the very same reason you do. In fact, Facebook is increasingly becoming a cancer upon humanity as it is chock full of sour grapes, half truths, and outright lies that it would appear many consider the truth.

Very soon the apes will rule this planet as humanity continues its downward spiral toward oblivion. . .

That's pretty dire.  ;D

But you're right about Facebook.  It's a conduit for people to be mentally masturbated by ideas that only fit their own prejudices, all aided and abetted by Russian trolls and bots.

Once you have PROOF, that he is "trading out" our Country to Putin, let me know.  As far as the Super Rich, I don't think they are "richer" than when Obama was around.  I know that  "I" am better off now than I was two years ago.

I'm doing better, because our economy is booming.  Are profit margins are better.  Business' are spending money, because of the tax breaks.  Our business is spending more money on raises, better benefits, and perks. Life is MUCH better now than two years ago...and Trump IS THE REASON.  PERIOD.

I submit that if the things you are saying are true for you, (And I am not saying they are not), then it has more to do with ownerships philanthropy than anything to do with who the POTUS is. The fact is the majority of major global conglomerates are using the "tax breaks" to fatten up their bottom lines and buy back shares in their various corporations rather than showing appreciation for their employees.

Salaries are by and large still depressed when compared to 2007 levels and they will remain that way until there is a shortage of skilled and experienced workers available to fill any increased hiring that may be forced to take place long term. They aren't hiring unless they have to for that very reason, and those that are hiring are doing so to crew up start ups.

I will say that within the industrial park within which my employer is located, there are 5 current distribution centers and warehouses going up and in various stages of completion. We'll see what they pay their employees when they begin hiring, but I'm betting it isn't much more than what the going rate is right now.

And before you start claiming this as proof of economic growth, consider the fact that all 5 of those entities are only building new in Indiana because they are closing sites in other states, (among them Illinois for obvious reasons to me anyway), and reopening the very same operations in Indiana, under a subsidiary company's mantle or a third party warehousing company's banner. Why? Because they don't have to pay "scale" in this state to hourly and salaried employees and they're receiving huge tax breaks from a basically agricultural township that doesn't (didn't) have more than 2 nickels to rub together to begin with, and all that farmland is being sold to corporations like "Duke" for millions of dollars.  (And why not? The corn and soybeans they've been growing on those lands for decades are now not worth the gasoline it takes to plant, harvest, and transport them to market with the tariff apocalypse the Cheeto is waging.)

The GOP owns all of this as well as both houses and the oval office. Short term gains being grabbed with both hands by them, in exchange for the long term future of the 99% of this country and the nation itself.

Exactly the operating plan that companies like General Motors and Chrysler used in dealing with the unionized labor forces throughout the 70's, 80's, and 90's and which resulted in $50-70k pickup trucks and the eventual collapse of their business operations. Which the taxpayers had no choice but to bail them out of in order to preserve jobs; jobs they eventually exported to places like Canada and Mexico for less than 1/3 of the hourly labor and benefit rates.

The point being, these short sighted gains are nothing but trophies that CEO's and now POTUS's collect to show everybody how "great" they are and pound their chests while smoking cigars at social events disguised as business conferences. They don't give a damn about the long term ramifications of their collective selling out campaigns because they'll be long gone and sailing to a soft landing under the canopy of their golden parachute. And the masses, and indeed this very nation itself, will starve and pollute itself into oblivion within a couple of decades when the bills come due.

I'll likely be fertilizer at that point, (with any luck), but the legacy we are leaving to our children and grandchildren surely will not allow any of us to rest in peace. Which is exactly why I am going to be cremated. That way I'll already be dust and it is highly likely I'll be ahead of the rest of the planet in achieving that status. . .

I'm not going to try to dispute you.  I know you give it much thought and have your logic applied.  The one thing I do know is, that we would/could not have sustained the route we were heading and especially with the leadership of Hillary would have led us down.  This "socialist" leaning by a more government interventionist tactic, by an extremely crooked government  (yes both parties) was 100% a pathway to our Nation failing.

Trump, is rocking the boat, with nothing else, but stirring the "swamp".  Opening the eyes of millions of Americans, that we don't have to continue doing things the way we were or have been doing the last few decades.  That way IS LOSING.  We DID/DO have horrible deals with NAFTA, the UN, NATO and trade policies with several countries.  We allowed much of the world to take advantage of us.  THAT IS GOING TO CHANGE.  IT MUST!!  and it IS, thanks to Trump.

Some may be bad, but it was already bad to begin with.  Half this Country believes in him right now.  You can slam them or you can vote someone better in.  That is the way it is supposed to work.  November will be a good barometer of what people really think.  For NOW, I'm willing to give Trump support to make a difference.  In two years, I may regret it or maybe, just maybe......folks like yourself, will see a positive difference and we will see another four years.  Obama had eight and the pendulum swung back the other way.

All I know is, I am seeing a positive growth to our economy and I want it to continue.  A liberal agenda, I believe would end it.
