This is the best thought, and the best two lines in the piece:

As the article points out, Democratic/Progressive etc. voter apathy allowed racists, bigots, and authoritarians gain control of our nation's government(s).

While we can blame the nation's racists, bigots, and authoritarians for the result, we knew what they were, and we deliberately failed to stop them.  They only had the numbers to succeed in their takeover because the Democrats/Progressives didn't take their societal responsibility seriously enough to get off their duff in masses enough to stop those racists, bigots, and authoritarians from acquiring the seats of power.

This reminds me of the election of Richard Nixon as president - and prior to that Ronnie Ray-gun as governor of California - with what I won't be surprised with as the same results.

I take exception to your description of the democrats.  Once the primary was being stolen by Clinton, the war was on within the party. The fact that she bribed super delegates and the democratic party chairs in states and the corporate media not only donated to her campaign, but actively stopped any message from Bernie from getting out, then she crapped on the majority of democrats telling them their vote and voice did not count.

7.7 million democrats who voted for Obama stayed at home when Clinton stole the primary.  She was not and is not accepted by the majority of independents who vote democrat and the democrat members.  Clinton got a lot of republican votes because she also courted them.

  There was a movie theater in Anderson Indiana that before the show started he would play the National Anthem.  I was there one night and he played it and I didn't stand up.  A young punk behind me start to give a ration of shit over it.    I told him I paid to watch the movie, not to stand up.  Then I ask him if he have been the military, he said no.    I told him I had spent my time there and to sit down and shut up.     He sat down and he shut upped.

That has NOTHING, what-so-ever to do with this!!!  You don't know the circumstances.....and she has EVERY right to fly, just like anyone else, without being verbally attacked or harassed.

getting back to my point, I think it is pathetic that she is abused in this fashion, with little to no angry reaction by democrats....as much as I disagree with Obama, I would not condone any verbal attacks upon ANYONE in his family.......it is BS!  and is somewhat hypocritical.....

1. You are using the actions of one idiot to crucify an entire demographic. Not very wise, especially if you feel a lack of support for a position. I, like many other individuals of every race, sex, and political persuasion, agree it was uncalled for, unfair, and idiotic; however the situation was handled by those responsible for doing so.

2. The point surrounding the wisdom of traveling commercial when you are the daughter of the president elect is a good one; and I will point out that this is the very reason the family of the POTUS, (Every POTUS), frequently use private chartered aircraft when traveling, and sometimes Air Force 1 when it involves the 1st family. (Something you've caterwauled about numerous times over the last 8 years).

3. Traveling commercial is a high security risk for any member of the 1st family, immediate and extended. Always has been, always will be. (Just ask the Kennedys. One of the reasons John Jr. became a pilot was this very situation). I am surprised that the Secret Service allowed such, but then again given the nearly decade of political vitriol being spewed, one should almost never be surprised at just how low humanity will sink.

No one deserves to be treated in such a manner; and if they do then they shouldn't be traveling commercial, simple as that. That the individual doing the spewing in this case is a lawyer only serves to exacerbate the idiocy of his actions. (Proving there are idiots everywhere, and some of them hold professional titles.)

It is my sincere hope that the Trump family learns the very important lesson in this incident, and that they are thankful for its benign ending. It could have been much worse. (And will be before his term is over).

It is incumbent upon The Raging Cheeto to impose travel protocols that will secure the safety and well being of his family while he is the POTUS. (If he even gives a damn.)
