What does that have to do with whether dealing drugs is a victimless crime? A person doesn't have to be in law enforcement or train dogs to know it is not a victimless crime and that drug dealers, especially crack and powder cocaine or haroine, are dangerous.

Who is the victim in most drug deals, the purchaser or the seller?  Does the same hold true for liquor store owners?  Street level dealers are not cartel king pins and the crime the guy in your original article is now accused of has nothing to do with him ever having sold anyone drugs.  They are in no way related no matter how many times you try to spin it otherwise.

Liquor store owners don't kill or maim the people who don't pay them or go after their families. The also don't go to schools and linger around getting kids hooked or selling to them. Don't even go the liquor route that is a whole different thing and it is the people who drink it who are not always responsible.

  I have thought for years to solve the problems with drug crimes is easy.  I heard that there is people in Washington DC are thinking this and it is this.  In every major city open clinics that would dispense every illegal drug to the people who wanted them.  Giving each one all of the drugs they want and can carry out in their blood system and nose.  In  a short time the problem would go away.

It's the drug dealers who are getting released early and it's obvious not all drug dealers have committed victimless crimes. He obviously had a history here and would not have been released yet if it weren't for the new guidelines.

Hammonds and Callahan had a history going back more than 10 years. In a Columbus police report from 2006, taken while Callahan's federal case was pending, Hammonds said that he had beaten and choked her so severely that she thought he "would have killed her if (a) good Samaritan didn't pass by."

She said in the report that Callahan was her live-in boyfriend of about a year and "has been stressed because he is facing federal time."

The changes to his federal sentence came as part of retroactive attempts by the U.S. Sentencing Commission to rectify sentencing disparities between dealers who sold crack and those who dealt powdered cocaine.

In a 2011 motion for Callahan's last reduction, Callahan's attorney said federal prosecutors agreed that Callahan's good behavior in prison and other factors led both sides "to conclude that his early release did not present a danger to the safety of the public."

Federal prison records show that Callahan was released on Aug. 8, 2014. If the new federal guidelines hadn't gone through, he likely would have been in prison at least until late this year, even with time off for good behavior.

Barack Obama may be the world's most powerful man but Queen Elizabeth II forced him to slash by half the number of choppers his Secret Service can land on the Windsor Castle lawns when the US president came over for dinner with the 90-year-old monarch.

The Queen called Obama's bevy of choppers "over the top", meaning the Secret Service had to rethink their plans to land about six aircraft in the 300-year-old gardens of her main residence.

"It was a write-off and the Queen was not amused," 'Daily Express' quoted a royal source as saying.

"Her Majesty refused to back down and said, 'three helicopters only'. The Secret Service had to go away and think about their plan. The President's officials were told that the Queen regarded Windsor Castle as her family home and the most important of all royal residences," the report said.

"She rarely imposes her will but when she does people listen – it just took the US Secret Service agents a little time to realise that," the source said.

The Queen, whose 90th birthday was celebrated recently, said there was no chance Obama's extensive security backup would be accompanying him to Windsor Castle.
Her insistence came after Obama's helicopters damaged the grass when half a dozen of them landed during his last visit in 2011.

The engines' heat scorched the grounds and the wheels left divots in one of the UK's oldest lawns, planted during the reign of Queen Anne in the early 1700s.
The Queen said only three helicopters, including the president's personal aircraft Marine One, could land on the lawn when Obama, 54, and his wife, Michelle, 52, came for dinner with the monarch and Prince Philip to celebrate her 90th birthday, the report said.

An insider said US aides refused to change their plans on security grounds but came around to the Queen's wishes eventually.

"They said they needed to be within reach of the president at all times. They also wanted guards posted inside the dining hall when he had lunch with the Queen," the insider said.

" But Her Majesty refused to back down and said, 'three helicopters only'. Eventually the President's aides accepted her wishes," the report said.
Obama visited the UK as part of his ongoing three-nation tour which also included Saudi Arabia and Germany.
