Here's a democrat who is clearly hanging with the repugnicans. Charles Rangel spewed this shit :

. . .That is why I wrote the Universal National Service Act, known as the "draft" bill, which requires all men and women between ages 18 and 25 to give two years of service in any capacity that promotes our national defense.. . .

To me, and this is just my personal opinion, this smacks of old hard line Russia. . .  :icon_evil:  Compulsory service in the military. . .  :icon_evil:

I admit, there are those among the population that such service would be good for, but at the same time there are those for whom it will be a HUGE mistake. . .  Do we really want to turn Billy Bob loose with a firearm and train him how to kill people?

I read that earlier, and I think this is the crux of what he's trying to say:

"Since we replaced the compulsory military draft with an all-volunteer force in 1973, our nation has been making decisions about wars without worry over who fights them. I sincerely believe that reinstating the draft would compel the American public to have a stake in the wars we fight as a nation."

It's very easy for the American public to become complacent about sending our young people into war, as long as it's other people's children and grandchildren who are sent to fight the fight.  It's also easier for politicians to rattle the sabres against other countries all the while knowing that their own children will never have to deploy.

That bill doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell of passing, but American's, and especially those in the Republican party who are always pounding the war rhetoric, need to think about the costs in blood and treasure before engaging in military action.  I think that's the point that Congressman Rangel was trying to make.

Agreed. However, what happens if the party of "NO" decides to say yes to this? Some of those jackwagons are just chomping at the bit to visit foreign lands and kill people. And by the time they think about the fact their sons and daughters will be sent into the meat grinder, it'll be too late. We'd have loosened a legion of trained killers upon society that possess about as much critical thinking skills as a great white shark. . .

Arguing with Christians is like playing chess with a pigeon.  No matter how good I am at chess, the pigeon is just going to knock over the pieces, shit on the board and strut around like it's victorious.

I just made an observation.

Now on to more important issues, WTF is this nonsense about NO Santa?

You don't know that, you ever shoot skeet Skippy?  Nope I would say, it's to expensive, the cost of the skeet gun and the cost of the ammo would keep out someone as cheap as you.

But tell me Skippy what about Paul Ryan washing clean dishes in a soup kitchen.  :haha:  that surly wasn't a photo op.    I'll bet he's not a dish washer at home.
