PH, gutting it not what the repubs want.........they want reform.  I know for a fact, that some, not all, a few perhaps, but they will NOT take a job as long as they can get an unemployment check.
I think you are wrong too, not all social programs are bad, and many, not all republicans, understand the significance of them.  They see the abuse and the fraud that has overtaken them.  THAT is part of the entitlement reform.

The presidential election was much closer than many realize....and the house did stay GOP...if amerians wanted to more spending they would have thrown out the gop in the house....the didn't.  The GOP won more governorships.........the GOP is not dead, but I agree they needs to be some changes.

As far as unemployement, just how long should a person be able to collect?  I believe we are now at 99 weeks.

I know I am jumping around here, but I think a program such as we were talking about to house the mentally disturbed could be a "savings" by stopping the problem before it does cost lives.

I think too many democrats have sterotyped the republican party for something it is not........I know I don't hate poor people, I want them to have the same opportunity to work as anybody does.  So does most of other republicans I know.  We just want the corruption removed from the entitlement mentality.

Listen, I know you and others are going to dismiss everything I said, and start with teaching a pig to dance bullshit.

I'm telling you how it is from a conservatives point of view.....and it is about half this country.

But Henry, you and your guys lost the election.  Obama got 52% of the American's votes.  You lost it Pal, it's all over but your crying.

Skippy you're just going to have to get your head out of your Republican ass and wake up to the fact that your got your ass whipped and we got you guys by the balls.  Give it up and surrender.  :uncle:  :haha:  :haha:  :haha:

They currently can collect only 26 weeks from the state of Indiana; after that there is nothing. NO federal extensions beyond what current federal extension anyone may be within. Nothing. Zilch. Nada.

And the only people "stereotyping" are the tea-billies. They've basically gutted the GOP in the eyes of the thinking American citizens of this nation; and that includes those who historically have adopted the conservative positions in this country. They under-estimated the cost of holding the life-lines of Americans hostage to their extremist political ideals, and as the aged stalwarts of the republican party die off their power dwindles over the coming years. They have alienated everybody else with their shenanigans and pretty much guaranteed that as each of their party base gets harvested there will be no one stepping in to replace them in the voting base. That's why they've cast all their political eggs into the corporate Amerika basket, because they are counting on them to buy the positions and legislation they need to survive.

We didn't lose the house though Troll........despite the Obama won the POTUS, basically, nothing changed. Americans are exactly with the same view as they were four years ago.  But the GOP has control of the purse, because the people of this country decided they felt better with them in control of it.  If Obama want's to play.....let's play.  The GOP has given everything he wants but for the amount of those he wants to tax.......

The GOP can merely pass the bill and give it to the senate, and they can go over the cliff........The repubs has clearly shown, that they are willing to negotiate.

You lost the house;get over it.

Well, well, well, the lies never end with the Hawk.  If you think Boner is negotiating, you can :azz:  The Scotch drinking golfer Boner is pulling the wool over nobodies eyes.  He just need to sober up and realize he can't make a move without loosing his nuts.  :haha:

No, we didn't win the house, but we made a dent in it and after 2014 we will win it back.     Why?  The Republican Party has been taken over by a bunch of Looney Tune Tea Baggers.  You guys won't change but we sure can change who is in control.     :rotfl:

His point was clearly to equate Obama to Hitler.

My point is anybody who would put Hitler on such a list, pretty much loses any worth value from there on out....hell Stalin was on it twice.  I guess I have a different interpretation of what the "Man of the Year" should represent.
