But I do understand how dangerous it is to give people that power who do NOT understand the responsibility involved.

Or to give it to those who are apparently too lazy to even try.
One of the gravest dangers to the survival of our republic is an ignorant electorate routinely feeding at the trough of propaganda.   -- Locutus

"Hope & Change!"..... "I promise by the end of my first term I'll cut the deficit in half in four years"....OR...that we'd have unemployment at 5.4 percent...."If we pass the stimulus bill, it will not go above 8%"...."I will close gitmo".....He said he would have by now put forward a plan to reform Medicare and Social Security, because he pointed out they're on the road to bankruptcy. He would reform them. He'd get that done. He hasn't even made a proposal on either one.

I guess those where the insidious fairy tales you were talking about.... ;)
Let me see.......who was it that just ran up a ton of debt, in the name of country?   He has increased our debt by SIX TRILLION DOLLARS!  and Who is holding the bag right now?
How many jobs has GM outsources since Obama bailed them out? look it up.

That name is NOT Romney but Barack H. Obama.....

Seriously?  this is like a bad dream, Really it is.....How some of you say some of the things you do, with the passion that you do, and the so-called critical thinking that is exalted....the hypocritical, two-sided, name-calling, egotistical smugness that spews out of here on a daily basis.....is amazing.
and that is CLEARLY how I see it!..

and yet, I am the one who has been "sold a bill of goods that are not only worthless"..... ...

Our nation is already at extreme risk.....and four more years of this continued leadership will only see it explode in our faces.

and Ex, I honestly DO get it.....until, we understand that we cannot continue to pay unskilled workers $85 an hour to make an auto HERE.....we are doomed.  THAT alone is what is killing us.

Yes, it is awful that they paid your unskilled dad all that money for so many years.  With all of those benefits you your siblings, you dad and mother used and enjoyed and so many others that didn't have that break in life.  Yes, The UAW with General Motors were terrible to you and your family.  You snobbish elitist asshole.     Only the the super educated should get the big money.  Wire pullers like you.  Give me a break Clarabell.  :mama:

QuoteConservative economist Ben Stein  joined Fox & Friends on Thursday where he stunned the hosts after he called for raising the tax rates on people making more than $2 million per year. He said that he did not think that the United States simply had a spending problem, and cited the early post-war period as an example of a time when you could have high tax rates and high growth.

"I hate to say this on Fox -- I hope I'll be allowed to leave here alive -- but I don't think there is any way we can cut spending enough to make a meaningful difference," said Stein. "We're going to have to raise taxes on very, very rich people. People with incomes of, say, $2, $3, $4 million a year and up. And then slowly, slowly, slowly move it down. $250,000 a year, that's not a rich person."

Stein said that the government has a spending problem, but they also have a "too low taxes problem."

"With all due respect to Fox, who I love like brothers and sisters, taxes are too low," said Stein.

"That sounds like Bowles-Simpson," said Gretchen Carlson.

"It is Bowles-Simpson," Stein replied.

"The evidence is that there is no clear connection between the level of taxation and the level of economic activity," said Stein. "The biggest growth and prosperity we've ever had in this country was from roughly 1941 to 1973. That was the best years we've ever had and those
were years of much higher taxes than we have now."
"Taxes were at 70, 80 percent then," said Steve Doocy.

"And yet, we were very prosperous," Stein replied. "The highest rate was in the 90s during parts of the 50s, and yet we were very
prosperous."

Seeing how uncomfortable the hosts are is priceless! I respect that he's telling the truth despite the fact that it doesn't favor his political party's position. We need more honesty.

Emotion versus logic

You can't meet the burden of YOUR responsibility as an American voter if you aren't willing to think objectively.

Come on Sandy, you that is not true.  Many great Americans are conserative.  When you say such a thing, that is ridicules.

Half this nation thinks one way and the other thinks a different way.  This is going to be a close election.

Would you care to name a few of these great Conservatives.  Huh?  I can only think of only one and you probably wouldn't consider him a Conservative.  Teddy Roosevelt, he wouldn't let the super rich lead him around by the neck.  Like Romney member of the super rich has let the radical religious right and the Tea Party.

I don't know how you Republican can pick so many bad candidates.  You radical Christian wanted anyone but Mitt and you now have him and WOW your going to vote for him and Mike Pense and the religious dick Dick Mourdock.  It is something that 47% of the country are Mooorooons.  :haha:   :zoners:
