A former Major, and doctor within one of the upper crust regions of Illinois (Palos Hills, Orland Hills, etc. that comprise district 18), and oh yeah, she was a nun!

She has more money than you or I will ever dream of having, and one wonders why she really is running for the Senate when her Professor of Entrepreneurship husband could likely turn all that lettuce into even more with a business venture. . .

(Hint; she wants to protect her own rich ass by running for senate so she can legislate laws to protect her money).

Congress is now contributing to a doctor's shortage. If this idiot gets elected there'll be one less family practice in district 18 of Illinois.

There is already a shortage of doctors and an even bigger shortage of good doctors.  If they do stay in the field they most likely will not stay in private practice but instead will go into a clinic type setting where they aren't having to pay for help, office space, supplies, ins coverage for their employees, and equipment.  Doctors have already quit taking new medicare and Medicaid patients and more will as time goes on.  Doctors are not as rich as you may think.  Yes they charge a lot for services but they also have an enormous amount of overhead.  By the time this all takes effect almost no one will be able to afford "premium" healthcare.

  Many years ago the American Medical Association had decided that they were making to many doctors.  Driving down the money a doctor could make.  Also they made the qualification so tough that doctors from foreign countries couldn't be come a doctor.

  The man who run the Wingon in Anderson was a doctor when he came to this country and it was going to cost to much time and money to become a doctor here.  So he gave up his idea to become a doctor.  The biggest UNION of Doctors, the American Medical Association is the cause of the shortage of doctors.

  There is no shortage of young men and women who want and have the money to become a doctor.  There is not enough openings in the Medical colleges.

I don't know which part of her post you are referring to but two years ago we had to find a new family doctor. I called the physicians referral service at St. John's. When I told them my husband was on Medicare they said that limited the number of doctors they could referr us to as a lot of doctors were limiting the number of Medicare/Medicade patients to 10% of their practice.
