The Troll

Talking to Henry is like talking to a tape recorder that has an endless tape of the Republican talking points.  You know it like talking to the television when the Mitten in on lying as he always does.  Now we're going to have two liars, lying about everything and changing their minds everyday.

Dumb and Dumber are just like a wing sock at the airport on a windy day.  Around and around and nobody knows where.

Time for me to quit debating with you...........when in no longer maters how sensible, honest and serious a person is.......if he is a republican, it makes no difference...you have nothing to add to a logical discussion.

I would like for Henry to get out of his egg.  He must work in a draconian Republican environment.  If he has any friends they have to be right wing religious zealots, single minded, greedy, selfish and are not good at math and with tunnel vision.

But what make me feel sorry for the Twins, they just can't get their head out of their asses to see what the Republican Party has become.  A party for the Super Rich and the Corporations.  I just don't get it where they come up with their shit, and I do mean shit.  :puke:

I know what half this country thinks.  Half this country (about 46%) believe that God placed humans on the Earth in their present form sometime in the last 10,000 years.  That's how half this country thinks.

http://www.gallup.com/poll/155003/hold-creationist-view-human-origins.aspx

It's wrong; it's not scientific; it's scary.  We wonder why things are so fucked up in this country, yet we have basically one out of every two people we run across in any given day holding to a belief like that.  If half of the population can't rub together enough brain cells to figure out they're wrong about basic biological facts and science, then how can we trust that they're even remotely capable of discerning what's sound policy and what's not?  These people are spoon fed their religion, their beliefs, and their politics, and they're perfectly fine with sitting back and being lied to on a daily basis.  They let others tell them what to think so they don't have to worry about doing any thinking for themselves.

And as an a aside, it's been pointed out that what the half - whatever number that may represent - thinks, doesn't make it right.  It's that ugly Appeal to Popularity fallacy rearing its ugly head again.  The case in point above about the 46% is a prime example of that.

Do you honestly believe that because half of any given population, regardless of whatever number constitutes half, believe something to be true that it automatically makes it so?

9 out of 10 is NOT half...first of all.

The half I was talking about earlier was Troll referring to If I had any friends they have to be "right wing religious zealots, single minded, greedy, selfish and are not good at math and with tunnel vision."..........and

just to clarify, I am not a zealot.  NOR am I single-minded....I'm not greedy what-so-ever....I am not selfish...plus I am pretty good at math.

just sayin.

I have no doubt that you're not selfish; I've seen that in evidence here before around the time of Christmas.

However, I will rephrase my question.  Do you honestly believe that because any subset of any given population, regardless of whatever number constitutes that subset (1 out of 2, 4 out of 5, 9 out of 10, etc.), believe something to be true that it automatically makes it so?

You seem to use that argument to validate your positions all the time around here, and I'm wondering why you think that makes your thoughts and opinions valid.

Honestly, it doesn't matter if 10 out of 10 believe something to be true, that doesn't automatically make it so.

I don't play the polls.......I am who I am.  I know what I beleive.  I believe in God.  Even if 9 out of 10 didn't.........that does not change who I am.  I have been raised on principals....and they matter to me.  Scientist have been wrong before too.  They have yet to prove the God does not exist.

Man made global warming is NOT a scientific fact.....even though many scientist claim it is.

Other than my belief in God....I do not discount scientific truths.  I am not saying man cannot cause global warming someday, I just don't think we are there yet....and I am not against pushing for cleaner ways to live.........I am open to certain aspects of evolution....to a degree....I really am open minded....I just don't buy into everything that comes along.

I appreciate you pointing out I am not selfish........I don't like to blow my own horn.....but, I am proud to help out others anytime I can....with money, my time or just listening to them.......

Pretty simple to prove or disprove, Henry.  Pick someone you know who is chronically ill and pray to your god to heal him/her.  Encourage your friends and neighbors to pray as well.  Nothing will happen because your god doesn't exist.  I can get the same result by screaming out that person's name while taking a dump...nothing.
