Not for cash...I got too many kids to gamble my hard earned cash.....but, we can come up with a forum bet if you want...change our names or pictures to something the winner decides or something along those lines....

I really think Harry is toast come this election....

If the people are watching how Sharron is acting and hear what she is saying, she makes Sara seem bright and awake.  I really don't think that there is that many people in Nevada that are totally brain dead.

you know I do not know much about this Sharron chick....but, I do know that Harry is NOT as well thought of as he once was in NV.....he has a lot of damage control to do.....he has big pockets, but I just think he has ran out of gas in that state...and there is a ton of pressure nation wide to get rid of him.....

Damn I really hate to admit it, but you were right on not 57 but 55 with two independents.  But getting 3 Republicans to vote with the Democrats is like getting them to draw blood.  I am beginning to mix up presidents and majorities.

It isn't right, but in this day and age and the rules being screwed by the Republicans, it takes 6o votes to pass a bill.

Most of my friend are Democrats and the few Republican friends, don't think what the Republicans are doing in Washington, is right either.  Saying no, with a 100%  no votes every time.  There is something wrong with this.  Only in the old communist party and Sadam's party did you get a 100% for what the leaders wanted.

But come November you might be wrong.  Your little Teabagger Party and Sara are sure going down in the elections.  How many wins does Sara have.  Ha, Ha, Hee, Hee.

Would you like to make a little bet on the Harry and Sharron election in Nevada.  :hohoho:

Driving home this evening, I was listening to "All Things Considered." This story caught my attention.

http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=129034363

Key paragraphs:

Right after that vote, the Senate's No. 2 Democrat, Dick Durbin, recalled a conversation he said took place between Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and Majority Leader Harry Reid.

"Sen. McConnell came to Sen. Reid several months ago and said, 'If you haven't noticed, it's over. You can stay as long as you want, but nothing's going to happen,' " Durbin said. "And so, anything we've had has been nothing short of a political miracle."

With 59 in the Democratic caucus, making political miracles happen comes down to finding one or two Republicans for the 60 votes needed to thwart GOP filibusters. And there have been plenty of those.

When Democrats tried bringing up a bill earlier this week with $10 billion to avoid teacher layoffs and $16 billion to help states pay for Medicaid, Republican leader McConnell objected.
....
Majority leader Reid mentioned such efforts a few days ago: "One of my senators came to me and said that they did some testing of all the issues, and surprisingly, child nutrition scored extremely high with focus groups in all the polling. We want to get that done."

By late afternoon Thursday, Arkansas Democrat Blanche Lincoln was thanking her Senate colleagues for "rising above partisan politics" and passing the bill she sponsored that boosts funding for school lunches.

Now that is disgusting. The political whores of both parties are so far removed from reality, they are screwing around with our livelihoods and our children for bragging rights! The repubs say, "Nah-nah-nah-nah, no matter what you try we're gonna filibuster." The dems say, "Oh yeah, we'll throw little kids lunches into the mix. Filibuster that!"

It's time to send these brats -- all of them! -- to the woodshed and let adults make the decision. Every issue isn't an excuse for the republicans to count coup on the democrats. And the democrats need to stop dragging the cripples and orphans into the political arena just to paint blood on the republicans.

I don't think there is thing that could happen in November that will make these damned parasites understand this country is going down for the third time. If it surfaces again, I hope will have no place for these worthless sycophants who say they are "serving" us, no matter what patriotic jingles they chant, or who they pray to.

... the top 1% of the wage earners pays for 39% of the federal income taxes?....and before the Bush Tax Cuts, they was only paying 37%...did you know that?....yeah, Bush CUT those tax rates for those guys and they ended up pay MORE of the total federal income tax collected....

Did it not occur to you, Henry, that their percentage went up because they are among the very few who STILL HAVE INCOME??  Don't tell me tax cuts will create jobs. The grotesque rise in unemployment came about during the decade of the Bush cuts.

How many jobs have been created by tax hikes in different states?  Didn't businesses move to other states with less taxes?  Aren't people moving out of Cal like crazy for states with lower taxes?  If it doesn't work for individual states why would it work for the entire US?  Rich people and businesses can move the average person is just stuck.

Whooossshh!! Your point just zipped right over my head. I don't understand. What businesses moved to other states? All the businesses I know about that moved, went out of the country.

federal revenue increased during the bush tax cuts.....unemployment was around 4%.....despite some of the attempts by a few on here with some CBO bs........facts are tax cuts DO work....JFK proved it....Reagan proved it.......and W proved it.
and letting these bush tax cuts expire is NOT a good thing to even THINK about doing during times like this.......we will be heading for REAL problems IF they allow this to happen....

To answer your question, Troll. Maybe. Besides the fact that there are more than two parties, I'll look at the records of each candidate and make a choice. I'm willing to consider a Republican, unlike our narrowminded friends here, I believe there could be a candidate in another party with good intentions and ideas.

Lolly's post inspired me to say "every", but more than likely I will consider voting for the performers...be they Democrat, Republican, Independent...

Nonperformers have got to go!

They do both and also will move within a state to the city with the lowest tax rate.  Not all businesses are large enough to move out of the country but they will relocate to a lower tax area.

May I have your source, please? I found plenty of documentation of wealthy individuals moving to states with no income tax, and a few stories about states (Nevada for one) trying to lure businesses by lowering taxes, but nothing about companies actually doing it.

On the other hand, I found lots and lots of stories about companies leaving the U.S.
