and somehow I knew that would be your response....and NO, the economy, the job situation, and the financial district did not somehow magically get this way in the last 2 years...but, I have NOT seen anything being done over the last four years to improve this situation, as a mater of fact they are WORSE....unemployment is STILL near 10%....and we have only in severly increased our National debt to the point we, (the US) is on the verge of being bankrupt....we are spending more and more and our government is getting MORE and MORE powerful....and YOU call ME gullible?

c'mon PH.....

Lets see. . . the "big 3" just turned a profit for the first time in 6 years. . . so no. . . that didn't work!

Henry,

1. Who? On the federal level? I'm not talking about opinions re: the Arizona debacle. I'm talking about the immigration reform that Obama is pushing for. I don't see any Repubs encouraging movement on that.
If you do, who?

2. Then share some of the sources you've used to form your opinion. Saying that you use "common sense" to get your information is like saying you pull them from your @zz.

3. If you don't want to debate, why do you keep trying? You want us to respect your opinions based on the fact that they're yours, but then you're unwilling to accept someone else's opinion when it's supported by facts. That's the equivalent of sticking your head in the sand. But if you mean that, that you don't want to debate, say so and I'll only "talk" with you and consider your comments with the same weight of any casual converation - grain of salt.

Please, with all due respect, take what I say with a grain of salt.....seriously.....I'm not out to change the world....I can assure you I am only taking what is said here with that same grain.

I am here to say what I think, .... I may occasionally post a link here and there....( I did that for ever here, and it didn't mean anything anyway)...if it makes you feel better to think I am pulling them out of my @ss, i'm okay with that....and If I don't get all excited about trusting your so called "facts"....that is okay too....and if you don't want to exchange with me on my ass pulling conversations..........NOT a problem....

you see, I tried to walk away from this joint, and for the life of me, I keep coming back......I for whatever reason, LIKE you guys!!!...and I like this means of letting out my frustrations....I pay MORE attention to the issues and topics, when I drop by here...

There was a time, not so long ago, I was getting all discombobulated (sic) with my thoughts and becoming very frustrated on here.....I was taking things WAY too seriously......I was getting upset if someone (who I truly liked) referred to me as a liar.....I was taking that to heart.

I'm good now, I'm not out to win over any friendships or worry about hurting anyones feelings....this is who I am, ... it is not my nature to hurt anyones feelings, or to lie.....so, IF it get interpreted as such, there is not much I am going to do about it, and I am NOT going to worry about it...I still hope I keep some of my friendships that i have formed here, but things are what they are...

this has gone WAY too deep, but this is just the Hawk laying it all out there.....and that is they way I am going to do it from now on....

You say you want to quit us.  What I would like to know is where do you go to talk politics with someone that agrees with you.  I would like to go to that site and just see that the people, who are like you have to say.  Then I would like to throw a bomb into that thing with a few good question, that you won't anwer.  I see a lot of these idiots of Fox News.

But it get a little tiring of you saying that the Democrats has the marjority.  Like with 1 more vote, like 51 out of a 100, when it takes 60 to get a bill passed.  Who went all over the USA trying to kill Social Security.  Who voted to deregulate the banks and Wall Street which cause all of the damage.  George W., all of his friends and Phil Gramm, Republican from Texas.  Plus who wants to give the top 2% of the members of the Super Rich a tax cut.  You do and your party does.

You have 57 Senators...........we have 41...............THAT is a Majority.....any decent politician should be able to muster up THREE votes to get the 60 percent, unless they are being pricks....THREE....hell, we have more than three RINOS..

nearly everyone I know is conservative, and that is no lie...my work, kid's ball coaches, the hardware store, my barber, my family, my neighbors, by mechanic, just about EVERYONE, I know is ashamed of this POTUS...as a mater of fact, THIS is about the only place outside of CNN, MSNBC, NBC, CBS, AND ABC...that is liberal.

that old saying keep your friends close but your enemies closer...THAT is my real reason for being here....

btw, did you know that 86% of ALL the federal income taxes are paid by the top 25% of the income earners?...and the top 1% of the wage earners pays for 39% of the federal income taxes?....and before the Bush Tax Cuts, they was only paying 37%...did you know that?....yeah, Bush CUT those tax rates for those guys and they ended up pay MORE of the total federal income tax collected.....maybe you need to read a little more about this stuff instead of listening to Rachel Maddow or MSNBC all the time.

But, Troll, God love ya, you make me laugh....you are a good dude with a great heart..... ;)

but listen to me the democrat have the majority, the democrat have the majority, the democrat have the majority....at least until NOVEMBER....

Warren Buffett ...

Warren Buffett, the third-richest man in the world, has criticised the US tax system for allowing him to pay a lower rate than his secretary and his cleaner.

Speaking at a $4,600-a-seat fundraiser in New York for Senator Hillary Clinton, Mr Buffett, who is worth an estimated $52 billion (£26 billion), said: "The 400 of us [here] pay a lower part of our income in taxes than our receptionists do, or our cleaning ladies, for that matter. If you're in the luckiest 1 per cent of humanity, you owe it to the rest of humanity to think about the other 99 per cent."

Mr Buffett said that he was taxed at 17.7 per cent on the $46 million he made last year, without trying to avoid paying higher taxes, while his secretary, who earned $60,000, was taxed at 30 per cent. Mr Buffett told his audience, which included John Mack, the chairman of Morgan Stanley, and Alan Patricof, the founder of the US branch of Apax Partners, that US government policy had accentuated a disparity of wealth that hurt the economy by stifling opportunity and motivation.

Tsk...tsk... Seriously, Henry? Capitalist Magazine? "Capitalism Magazine is an online magazine dedicated to the advocacy of unregulated capitalism"

Yes .. I DO believe she is taxed at 30%.  Evidently, so do the other millionaires who wouldn't take on Buffet's challenge ..."I'll bet a million dollars against any member of the Forbes 400  who challenges me that the average (federal tax rate including income and payroll taxes) for the Forbes 400 will be less than the average of their receptionists."

So far no takers. But ...

"So far only three close friends, all 400 members, have made the calculation for me.  They all came up with results similar to mine but have no interest in being identified."

Damn I really hate to admit it, but you were right on not 57 but 55 with two independents.  But getting 3 Republicans to vote with the Democrats is like getting them to draw blood.  I am beginning to mix up presidents and majorities.

It isn't right, but in this day and age and the rules being screwed by the Republicans, it takes 6o votes to pass a bill.

Most of my friend are Democrats and the few Republican friends, don't think what the Republicans are doing in Washington, is right either.  Saying no, with a 100%  no votes every time.  There is something wrong with this.  Only in the old communist party and Sadam's party did you get a 100% for what the leaders wanted.

But come November you might be wrong.  Your little Teabagger Party and Sara are sure going down in the elections.  How many wins does Sara have.  Ha, Ha, Hee, Hee.

Would you like to make a little bet on the Harry and Sharron election in Nevada.  :hohoho:
