Sweetheart,  I know about Russia.  Do you remember the Cuban embargo, when we were on the edge of Nuclear total destruction.  When Russia was sending  Nuclear tipped missiles into Cuba.  Do you remember where you where.  You probably didn't hear about it.

   While you were living the good life and practicing you freedom of religion.  I was at Fort Knox Kentucky in the United States Army.  Since I was a Information Specialist and the driver for the Turret, Fort Knox newspaper, I drove the information officers and news reporters around Fort Knox the world largest armor training center in the world.  Gathering information and watching the men of the army who protected you freedom of religion.  Load tanks, troop carriers, helicopter and many, many weapons of war onto railroad cars to send to Florida, for war that day and week.

  I can remember setting in front of the television, in the television room jammed  packed room. with the men standing shoulder to shoulder to watch President Kennedy tell us of the embargo.  You could hear a pin drop, after  the speech, all of us walk out. wondering how long it be before we would go.  Because we were the point of the spear.  We were there and we were trained.  How about you "ME",  I hope you slept good those days, My fellow soldiers and I didn't.

  I don't think it Russia for me.  You still have the right to practice your religion the way you want.  Just leave the rest of us out of it.  I did my duty standing at the point of the spear, did you?

You guys haven't told me where you were during the Cuban embargo.   Henry and Me where in church with their bibles, praying for their souls and you Lolly how many draft deferments had you gone though, while you were in college.  Or did you go to Canada.

It's really none of your business what I was doing or where I was during the Cuban embargo and has little to do with anything being discussed on here.  And also don't start pulling the holier than thou BS about serving in the military because I am from a military family and have several relatives, including one of my daughters, who were career military.  The other daughter opted out when she had her kids in order to raise them since her husband was also serving and he is now retired after serving 20yrs.

I will state for the record though that I'm an agnostic and have never been a Bible thumper although I won't put Henry down for believing as he does.

He thinks he is more of a "patriot" than the mother, daughter and wife of career military personnel, and an Agent Orange widow of a Nam vet because he passed newspapers at a stateside base during peacetime??? Talk about delusions of adequacy!

Well, he can look things up and bulked about posting his sources so I thought maybe he's never learned to do the copy paste thing or didn't realize you could do it with url's.  I'm not sure he even realized he could click on that one link I posted and go to my source in that other thread because he ignored it and then said almost the same thing I did about his being to long to copy and paste but nothing about posting a link.

I wasn't married to your brother. My guy developed cancer of the adrenal glands. NOBODY gets cancer of the adrenal glands. It was found when it metastasized into his lungs and bones. Not quite six months from diagnoses to the grave. Not quite long enough to get disability. What a country.
