I borrowed this poll from here [direct link to another forum removed] I'd like to see what you think.

I figured it was a safe bet that you didn't make it up yourself.
Arguing with Christians is like playing chess with a pigeon.  No matter how good I am at chess, the pigeon is just going to knock over the pieces, shit on the board and strut around like it's victorious.

The truth is slow, but relentless. Over time it becomes irresistible.

I figure it's a safe bet that you put your faith in atheist scientists.

Um, scientists can prove their theories...can you?

I spend nearly all of my waking hours in conversation with scientists. In your entire life, it is a fairly safe bet that you haven't come within a light year of a clue about what scientists actually do, yet you feel confident that it is safe to use the phrase "atheistic scientists" extremely glibly. And THAT ignorance is what irritates. You have intentionally made yourself ignorant and unaware of the world around you, and still think your evaluation of the processes that govern it is a valid one. Got news for you. NO, it's not. A few hundred years ago, you'd be stoning and burning witches at the stake.

Ahem. FTW, he would be stoning and burning wannabe witches. If he tried it with a true member of the sisterhood, not only would he fail, he would be singing soprano. The skills have not become rusty.

Now wolfie. . .You've got to ask yourself a question; Is it worth it?

(You know the answer to that one).

But for WIW I agree with your last post!

I stand sit corrected. (With my hands clutching my man-parts and begging for forgiveness.)

Yeah, they do tend to go right for the seeds don't they?!  :spooked:

Yeah, I know.

But, once in a while, I lose patience.

Thanks for reminding me.

Pretty stupid, really.  The questions are asinine.  Science is the presentation of facts, based on known data, or theories, based on known data.  Nothing more.  It isn't political, or anything other than the search for knowledge and to prove, or disprove, same.

The one question about tainted science being corrupted by gov't should be replace by science tainted by corporate funding.  That is a problem.  Then there is science tainted by religious nutjobs who's scientific formulation was formulated in easy bake ovens.

The Troll

Doc, you don't have to worry about an atheist.  He won't lie to you about the Universe.  He won't tell that you are going to hell.  He won't ask you get you down knees and pray for your sins.  He won't ask you to give thanks, if he buys your meal and he won't ask you to buy something for the church.  Because he doesn't give a damn about ghost, smoke and mirrors, fear and shame.  All he cares about the real facts and not some holy magic.  I would believe him more than a preacher leaving a widow's house, zipping up his pants and whipping the fried chicken off you mouth.  You can take that to the bank with you.  The Troll
