QuoteIn a face-to-face encounter, President Barack Obama chastised Republican lawmakers Friday for opposing him on health care, economic stimulus and other major issues.

Republicans pushed back on taxes and spending, and accused Obama of not taking their ideas seriously.

Obama, attending the House Republicans' retreat in Baltimore, began with conciliatory remarks but soon became more pointed. He said a GOP-driven "politics of no" was blocking action on bills that could help Americans obtain jobs and health care.

In a sometimes-barbed exchange, he said some in the audience have attended ribbon-cutting ceremonies for projects funded by the stimulus package they voted against. Obama also questioned why Republicans have overwhelmingly opposed his tax-cut policies, which he said have benefited 95 percent of American families.

"The notion that this was a radical package is just not true," Obama said. "I am not an ideologue."

Ah, but the Dems have, or had, the majority so how can he blame it on just the Republicans?  Just how did the Republicans block it they had no power at all and couldn't even filibuster.

If you aren't a part of the solution, then you're a part of the problem and it's obvious the house Repubs are.

That didn't answer my question that just repeated what you and the mainstream media keep telling us.  How, with no power, did the Republicans stop it?  The Democrats alone could have passed it with no problem since they held the majority.

Well it couldn't be that they've passed so much misinformation about the bill and have complained until the bill is but a bastardized verison of the original bill so that the democrats are unhappy with it the way it is because it doesn't benefit the individuals but rather the insurance companies, now could it?

Mainstream media...no me...it's obvious that the republicans are part of the problem. They've been kicking, screaming and whining since November 2008.

But if they read the bill they know what's in it and would have made the decision on that rather than misinformation wouldn't they?  I mean the Republicans could have complained 'til dooms day and it still would have made no difference when it came to a vote since they could have all voted no, which they didn't, and it just wouldn't have mattered one way or the other.

When did you get back into the country? A lot has happened since you've been gone. Do some catching up and then we'll discuss this.

I'll go v-e-r-y slowly and try to use small words.

The original bill is not the one which was voted on. The original bill was altered changed to appease constituents voters from home districts who believed the bullshit tossed out by Bill-O and Rush. These changes benefit help the insurance and pharmaceutical drug companies. So responsible congresspeople have a hard time voting for a bill that does nothing to curb those who already profit obscenely from the healthcare industry as it stands.

Ah, so it's the voters fault now since they had questions about the bill and wanted to know what was in it?  BTW exactly who wrote such a huge bill and who introduced, sponsored, it?  No, I don't know but since ya'll know so much I though maybe you could enlighten me.

No, it isn't the voters fault, it is congress's fault bottom line.

Pork, change this, change that, until the whole intention of the bill is 180 degrees from its intended path and target; to help those who are being punished needlessly. Instead, it now benefits those very entities that the SCOTUS gave even more insane power to influence our legislative branch.

Right and not just the Republicans fault.  The Dem's had control the whole way and it still didn't get done.  One thing for sure if Obama didn't know what was going on but only knew what he was being told he knows now and lets hope he snaps a knot in some tails and figures out what needs to be done like control Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reed.

OH GIVE ME A BREAK;  "me" how can you get so many things, just plain, flat wrong.  You say that the Democrats can pass any law they want because they have 51 Democrats votes in the senate.

You just gota be kidding,  getting the Democrats to work 100% together on any thing is like herding cats.  Just dealing with the Blue Dogs is just a pain in the ass for us.  Plus some them from the South are Republicans in Democrat clothing,

But, the real problem is, that you Republicans want  60 votes to pass a law.  Even you guys pass laws with 51, even holding a vote open to 4:30 in the morning.  The unfunded drug bill.  Now the Republican has become the party of NO, NO, NO, sink OBama and destroy America.  What more can  I say.  The Troll.

btw......this so called GREAT Health Care Bill will NOT even go into effect until 2014.....so, don't give me this sh!t that it has to passed this week, without even knowing what the hell is in it....THAT is the most arrogant and pompus and irresponsible vote this country will have ever witnessed if this thing passes right now....and the democrats are commiting political suicide if this happens, because Americans are not real happy right now about the way they are trying to shove this peice of legislature down our throats.....it is typical Chi Town Politics....and it sucks!

Henry, every country in the modern free world has health care for it's people.  The U.S.A. is the only country that doesn't.  Don't you think there is some wrong with this picture.  The only people against it is the Republican rich and people like you.  The compassionate one.  I fact old Rush thinks he might go to one.
