The Daily Kos put a target over her district too and I have yet to hear anyone say anything about that.  Of course except for a screen shots that were taken before it was scrubbed from the internet no one remembers that or cares to bring it up.  Nothing they have found connected this to Palin in any way.  I say again.....Who incited the person who killed Bobby Kennedy and others before and since him?  Was it Palin, Bush, political rhetoric?  No, they were nut jobs just like this guy period.

When she assumed the high profile position as "Queen" of the Tea Party, she assumed responsibility for its actions as a whole, as well as her own. When she spoke the words of political hatred and engaged in rhetoric that could be construed as desiring to incite someone to commit unreasonable acts of violence, she assumed responsibility for her words and actions, as well as those who parroted them.

She doesn't get diplomatic immunity for any of it. She isn't a diplomat and she sure as hell is not what she portrays herself to be by any stretch of the imagination that is this side of sane. She and a whole boatload of her ilk are equally responsible for whatever role their words and actions may have played in inciting this disturbed individual to do what he did; and for those they may incite to do them moving forward. And while there are a very small number of democrats who have done very similar things, by far and away the most prolific purveyors of this propaganda are the Tea Party, republicans, and their leadership.

Leadership has its privileges, but they come with responsibilities. Something Queen Palin knows a lot about surrounding running from and denying! The prudent thing to do in her situation is to admit to her ill advised actions and words to this point, and to initiate and call for a change of course. Instead, she attempts to deflect any possibility of those same actions and words playing any sort of role in influencing a disturbed individual to acts of violence; acts those same actions and words clearly could be interpreted to be supporting!

Anyone else find it ironic that she uses an antisemitic term ( blood libel) to describe her perspective on the whole situation!

Absolutely!!

That is an incredibly strange choice of words. It has a very narrow meaning and application.

WTF indeed! Everytime she opens her mouth she spews more and more hatred!

For those unfamiliar with the term, here's the generally, and worldwide, understood definition:

Blood libel refers to a false accusation or claim that religious minorities, in European contexts almost always Jews, murder children to use their blood in certain aspects of their religious rituals and holidays. Historically, these claims have–alongside those of well poisoning and host desecration–been a major theme in European persecution of Jews.

The libels typically allege that Jews require human blood for the baking of matzos for Passover. The accusations often assert that the blood of Christian children is especially coveted, and historically blood libel claims have often been made to account for otherwise unexplained deaths of children. In some cases, the alleged victim of human sacrifice has become venerated as a martyr, a holy figure around whom a martyr cult might arise. A few of these have been even canonized as saints, like Gavriil Belostoksky.

Because you read the Daily Cos, you know this to be fact, correct?

These people, nuts or not, were incited by something. That much is obvious. Just because the question wasn't asked, doesn't mean the answer doesn't apply.

The woman has absolutely NO credibility whatsoever!

Hell, Rick Sanchez lost his job as a CNN anchor over a statement far less insulting than the one she made today!

Those of you who holler the loudest about facts and proof really need to come up with something other than opinion and speculation before accusing.  Ya'll are really beginning to sound like a lynch mob ya know and yer doin' it without proof of guilt or even a remote tie in of Palin to this wack nut.    Hell, it even meets the criteria of being directed toward a particular person.  I guess proof doesn't matter in some cases though huh?   Wonder if all this hate speech will drive Troll,  who seems a bit unstable,  to go shoot Palin?   Oh wait, no that would be my defending of her that would do that since differing opinions are wrong from the dems point of view and he would be doing it to protect society from a bad influence.

The scariest part of all of this is that there are still those who persist in defending her. . .  :spooked: :spooked: :spooked:

Her "utilization" (FTW ) of the antisemitic term in her statement today is a striking red flag that could be interpreted as evidence of the antisemitism that many have suspected to be a motivating factor behind the proliferation of the fear mongering and hatred within the Tea Party's messages.  It certainly will be interpreted by those holding such an unacceptable worldview as a nod and a wink to them.

It is not an unreasonable connection to make to anyone who has the ability to critically review the information out there "me".
If you sit in a theatre and yell fire, and others react to that act by stampeding to the exits and in the process others are killed or injured, who is at fault? The person who yelled fire, or the people who emotionally reacted despite the absence of physical evidence to support the validity of the statement?  The fact is the person who falsely yelled the word would be charged with inciting a riot at minimum, and possibly murder or manslaughter.

It is the very same theory where this situation is concerned. Palin and her ilk have been running about spewing messages of "don't retreat-reload", calling for a code red, displaying antisemitic images directed toward political parties, office holders, and candidates, placing cross hairs on images and maps, etc., with no expectation of potentially inciting others toward initiatives that would fulfill those messages? (Reasonable or unreasonable individuals). And while you may argue that the party was not responsible for the signs on public display at their rallies, I would argue that the fact that they were allowed to be displayed without any public statement of condemnation of them, and no physical efforts being expended toward removal of them, is akin to silent agreement with the messages they imparted and their intent. Any reasonable person would make this assumption, and most have.

The allegations of antisemitism, fear mongering, and efforts/messages intended to incite violence are nothing new to the Tea Party nor the republican party. They have been out there since well before this incident, and have been profliferated by the republicans and Tea Party since before the last presidential election took place.

I'll tell you what is irresponsible, and that is the fact that the republican and Tea Parties refuse to acknowledge even the remote possibility that they have a role within what transpired in Tucson Arizona, and their apparent intention to continue on the path they have been trampling for over 2 years now!

When another one of these whacknuts comes out of the sewers and does something similar, the jig is up boys and girls. And any reasonable American who is possession of a sane mind, will call for those responsible for inciting these incidents to be held accountable for their actions!

He finally did something on his own and in his own way and made perfect sense.  As I have been trying to say all along but ya'll were too busy with the garbage being spewed on the lamestream media, it has been congress I've been mostly disagreeing with.  No, I did not vote for him, no, I do not agree with all of his policies, but that doesn't make me a racist or a hate monger.  Now do you understand?
