Probably the same thing that was said about them when disparaging remarks were made about this child of the White House.  Do you really have such selective memory?

One  question here.  What would have been said if the Republican's had joked about and attacked Obama's and Biden's kids during the campaign like the Dems did and are still doing with Palin?  Would that have been right and to be expected just because he was running for President and Biden Vice President?  An attack is an attack and it is not comedy it is rude and childish.

I didn't see the POTUS or VPOTUS using their children as tools during talk shows and campaign speeches, outside of the obligatory family pictures that every friggin one of them do. . .

Woulda, coulda, but didn't. Why can't you just accept that both of their "situations" are a direct result of the personal choices they have made? Instead of ignoring jokes or humor created at their expense they chose to go on the offensive over it early on and in so doing provided more fodder for the cannons. How is that anyone's fault but their own? If they want it to go away why don't they both just STFU and go back to the ice-flows and the last frontier? (And stay there as Mrs Bush so wisely stated here lately).

I think many are really missing the point here.....Sarah Palin is NOT the POTUS or the VPOTUS.  She is nothing more right now than political speaker and a celebrity.  Her daughter was just a normal kid, who was working in a doctors office three months ago.  She was 'asked' by ABC, to be on their show.  She accepted and has been a huge hit.

Because of her connection, she has been ridiculed and threatened.  She has taken all of this in stride, and has shown a great amount of poise and dignity.

Had anything happened to her, and her life was taken, by the responses that has been posted on here for the last several days, I think it would please some folks.  THAT is what I find is sad.  For God's sake a man shot out his TV JUST because she was voted to the finals of a TV show.

This girl has done absolutly NOTHING to harm anyone, yet you guys call her names and belittle her...

that is SAD!...

Well. . . there's one thing to be thankful for this season!

That's really glossing over the whole process a whole lot don't you think? Do you think she'd have been "asked" if her mother had not been a VP candidate and she herself had not been all over the press as a direct result of her mothers actions? Do you think she'd have had the drive to pursue it on her own and audition, etc?

That aside, the bottom line she got the opportunity because of her attention whore mother!

What's sad is that people are so jacked up emotionally over such programming as to be moved to shoot their friggin TV set over it, or threaten a contestant in the first place! Moreover, people take statements within an opinion forum and spin them until they equate to a physical threat to the very same contestant, when no such intention or statement was or has been made.

So I called her an attention whore! She is what she is and at least she gets it honestly. It is a learned behavior and we ALL know where she learned it now don't we?  Would you prefer I used the term attention prostitute?

The program is nothing more than entertainment, same as football, hockey, or any other televised competitive activity. Competition by its very nature requires that the "viewers" choose sides, and I'd venture to say worse things have been said about and to the likes of professional sports figures than has been said about or to either Palin.
