"I will speak to reporters who still understand that cornerstone of our democracy, that expectation that the public has for truth to be reported. And then we get to decide our own opinion based on the facts reported to us."
In a series of interviews with Couric authorized by the McCain campaign, Palin stumbled over a number of questions, most memorably when asked, "When it comes to establishing your world view...what newspapers and magazines did you regularly read?"
Palin appeared unable to name a single publication – a performance for which she was much maligned - and later said she found the question insulting, as well as emblematic of a liberal slant in the mainstream media.
"So a journalist, a reporter who is so biased and will, no doubt, spin and gin up whatever it is that I have to say to create controversy, I swear to you, I will not my waste my time with her. Or him," she told Hannity in the interview Monday.

For all you know they could be coming from your garden variety wackos who see  reality-type programming as an extension f their own lives and take it very personally. Then again, perhaps she didn't create the drama the producers expected and this "leak" ahs been created to generate interest. Either way, you still don't know that anyone on the left is responsible.

Again, there's absolutely no way of knowing that it comes from anyone on the "left" as Henry claims.  Obama receives threats all the time and I don't immediately assume it's some nutjob from the right.  Although there certainly is more than a fair amount of racism going around since Obama won the election, I also don't automatically assume that the people threatening Obama are racists either.

Nutjobs are nutjobs and I don't think they really affiliate themselves with either the left or the right. 

As to her children being fair game, Bristol made herself such of her own volition by signing up for that gig in the first place.

That isn't exactly true, how many other contestants have received. Even if you discount this instance, two years ago she was not on DWTS, nor was her little sister when she was at at baseball game and Letterman chose to make a bad joke of her and neither was Mrs. Palin's baby. All were attacked during and after the campaign multiple times. IMO a sorry reflection of how nasty people who were so desperate to get Mr. Obama elected could be. I do not want Mrs. Palin to be President, but it is amazing that people attack someone's children because they can't get the reaction they want by attacking the parent.

It's not bullshit! Just because you do not hear about it doesn't mean they didn't experience death threats. That is a false assumption. And I never said it was right! Death threats are never right, but they are the price of fame and being in the public eye.

Just how many death threats do you think the average celebrity or individual in the public eye receives each year? The answer depends upon just how saturated they are within the current media.

Why would anyone want to kill John Lennon? But they did. Why do you think celebrities hire body guards? As a status symbol?

The fact is when you step onto that stage you are going to raise the hackles of a certain portion of the population, no matter who you are or what you represent. Whether or not that particular portion of the population contains whacknuts delusional enough to undertake such an initiative is strictly a roll of the dice that depends upon the prevalence of mental illness amongst that population.

The fact that her mother prostituted her daughter as a means to garner support during her failed VPOTUS campaign only served to stir the embers of jealousy and rage amongst those same sick individuals, and as a person who knew damned well the risks associated with putting the spotlight onto her children, Palin demonstrated just how delusional she is in assuming such a risk where her children are concerned. She'd have been better served in emulating the natural tendencies of the moose and doing everything in her power to shield her babies from such potential threats, but instead we see the baby emulating the learned behaviors of its parent, and with it the associated risks. And people want to bitch about it? What's wrong with doing a root cause analysis of the whole problem and facing the facts?

Look at the current TSA debacle playing out on the national stage right now! Just how many of those employees handling peoples junk do you think are being subjected to threats, insults, and abuse today? And we're wasting time on a heifer that wants to shake her own junk on a public stage and moves some whacknuts to threaten her life over it?
