Yeah, each us of that are employed, or want to be employed, have to run the gauntlet of invasion of our privacy via the drug screening tests administered by our current or prospective employers. Don't smoke or we won't hire you, don't use recreational drugs including the weed, or we will fire you or not hire you. Blah, blah, blah. . .

Now, a study done by a Ball State professor has found pharmaceutical grade drugs present in our water supply, so guess what! You may not pass that drug screen even if you are a toe the line, straight arrow!  :spooked:

MUNCIE, Ind. — A Ball State University scientist has discovered traces of pharmaceuticals in 10 streams that flow through rural areas of central Indiana.

Biology professor Melody Bernot found traces of caffeine and nicotine byproducts in the streams along the upper White River, which is one of the state's most urbanized watersheds.

Traces of the mood-altering drug lithium were also found in some streams.

Bernot says more than 300 pharmaceuticals can enter waterways through human waste flushed into sewers or septic systems, and sometimes they enter drinking water supplies.

Last year, an Associated Press investigation found traces of pharmaceuticals in the drinking water supplies of at least 51 million Americans and in many waterways.
