I think THAT depends upon the situation.

Nope; the first steps toward conflict resolution should always be diplomatic.

I agree, but having a strong military, is ALWAYS a good way to make sure you are talking to is listening with both ears.

Whether or not we have a strong military isn't in question.

Well thanks to this unnecessary lil' fool's foray into Iraq, our military is a bit stretched at the moment.

When has there ever been a question about our ability to use our military?

that is my point ex........and, I know Obama has not yet ulitized our military....but he talked to General McChystal once since he took command of U.S. and NATO forces in Afghanistan...THIS is just me and my opinion....we will soon see, how he handles the military.

Funny but I remember the Clinton years as having been relatively peaceful.  Perhaps you are too senile to remember.

Does the WTC bombing, and Oklahoma City, ring a bell? Oh no wait, we didn't retaliate so I guess it was peaceful times and 9/11 was because we we're so peaceful by not retaliating that the perps knew, or thought, they would get buy with it because we would be diplomatic and talk their legs off.  You know, please don't do that again or we'll send you to bed without supper or if you don't do that anymore we'll give up some of our weapons and shrink our military forces down to nothing.   :rolleyes:

Ummmm..........how the hell did the Oklahoma City bombing relate to the WTC -- or anything else having to do with international terrorism, for that matter?

I'm very confused.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Well ... Timothy McVeigh was born in Lockport, New York. We could start there.

He was an NRA member. Let's level Fairfax, VA.

He was registered as a Republican. We could bomb RNC headquarters.  :icon_twisted:

Dang. Why didn't I think of that?

Oh. Now I remember. When I was in the service, I learned that we first had to identify the enemy properly.
