Arguing with Christians is like playing chess with a pigeon.  No matter how good I am at chess, the pigeon is just going to knock over the pieces, shit on the board and strut around like it's victorious.

The truth is slow, but relentless. Over time it becomes irresistible.

me

Ranks right up there with Jimmy Carter....

I didn't expect that the pundits would recognize what an honor this is for our entire country.

It's clear that people like you are upset that the United States is once again seen as a leader by the rest of the world.

Comment: absurd decision on Obama makes a mockery of the Nobel peace prize

Rarely has an award had such an obvious political and partisan intent. It was clearly seen by the Norwegian Nobel committee as a way of expressing European gratitude for an end to the Bush Administration, approval for the election of America's first black president and hope that Washington will honour its promise to re-engage with the world.

Instead, the prize risks looking preposterous in its claims, patronising in its intentions and demeaning in its attempt to build up a man who has barely begun his period in office, let alone achieved any tangible outcome for peace.

"...someday, the realm of liberty and justice will encompass the planet. Freedom is not just the birthright of the few, it is the God-given right of all His children, in every country. It won't come by conquest. It will come, because freedom is right and freedom works. It will come, because cooperation and good will among free people will carry the day."
— Ronald Reagan (The Quest for Peace, the Cause of Freedom)

Since when is it awarded on an effort?  I thought it was an award for accomplishments and as yet nothing has been accomplished.

Reagan is the man who should have WON the peace prize....

What has Obama done Ex?.....besides talk?  Actions are louder than words is what I was taught.  His WORDS
was NOT able to get him an Olympic Bid...he was SNUBBED by the WORLD.  Israel and Palestine are ignoring him.....We had the deadliest month on US soldiers in Afghanistan....Iran is on the verge of a Nuke bomb....he has only talked ONCE to his Commander, International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) and Commander, U.S. Forces Afghanistan, General McChrystal before last week..........and NOW, he may be sending 40,000 troops into action....or not, he seems to be having problems making decisions...while soldiers die...

I bet Poland and the Czech Republic feels MUCH safer now that Obama has cancelled the missile defense sites that had been promised to these governments...he has opened his hand and heart to Cuba, Libya, Syria, Russia, and Iran.

the bottom line is........we WILL see, exactly HOW peaceful this world will be over the next few months NOW that Obama has been given this ...... award.

what is even MORE of a joke is, that he was nominated for this award back in Feb, eleven days AFTER he took office......THIS is an embarrasment to what THIS award SHOULD represent....it is OBVIOUSLY a political, left leaning JOKE.

Obama has actually accomplished quite a bit toward resolving the conflicts initiated by the last administration but I wouldn't expect his detractors to be informed enough to understand how diplomacy works.

Yes, Henry, just like you understand the Bible so much better than all of the biblical scholars, you understand the Nobel Prize better than the people who actually decide who gets it.
