I finally got around to taking a couple of shots of the new ride, our '08 Goldwing.  So far it impresses me more and more each time I/we ride it. :smitten:

wow that is nice.  Wish the Goldwing I rode to SD on had been decked out like that....it didn't even have a windshield.  That is built for comfort for sure....

The only thing this one has extra is the Premium Audio package, Comfort (heated seats and grips) package, and the Navigation (built in GPS) system.  Otherwise, it's how they are all based now.  I really enjoy the cruise control on a long ride. :smitten:

My '81 was a base Wing, with nothing on it.  No fairing, windshield, backrest, just a basic bike.  I had to add a few things to it, but still it was nothing like this bike.

I did a 207 mile ride yesterday, and when I got home, I felt as if I had only gone 7 miles.  I did take a couple of potty breaks, but still it was smooth sailing.

The ex had a 79 Goldwing.  He did add a comfortable seat and I had a back rest but it was bare bones from there except for the trunk he also added.  It was raining from Council Bluffs Iowa part way into SD and we were traveling at night for part of the distance and he got behind a semi that was throwing small stones from the tires...at 70mph that wasn't fun and I really would have rather been in a car through that part of a trip.  Scared me then and scares me now to think about going that fast in the rain behind a semi.  And he wondered why I didn't like to ride with him....

Just shy of 2000 miles this morning, and it's only been two weeks.  What can I say, Honda did it right on the new style Goldwings.  They are nothing like their ancestors, and I just keep being amazed each time I ride it.  So well thought out for the wants and needs of the touring rider.

Last night we rode to a neighboring town for pizza.  In spite of the drizzling rain, we took the long way home, adding an additional 30 miles to the trip.  Going through Terre Haute in the dark and rain, I turned the switch that lowers the low beams, to put more light on the road directly in front of me.  Then when I got out of town, I dialed it back up to the regular setting to see further ahead.  It's all those little things that make this bike what it is.  Comfort wise it would be hard to beat.  I did 435 miles Friday, 180 Saturday, and 80 on Sunday for a total of 695 miles this weekend.  I could hop on and ride all day again, without a problem, it's that comfortable.

I love it more and more everyday. :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:
