Well, it i not completely unfounded, I do not have the where-abouts of my original source...but here is a source where it sums up that statement........http://www.coralridge.org/equip/10TruthsSeries/10%20Truths%20About%20Americas%20Christian%20Heritage/truth-2.aspx

Do you know where he actually got that?  Jefferson thought the bible was mostly garbage, never found anything mystical in it to be of merit, carved out the philosophy of jesus in his own bible re-write and eliminated the divine nature of jesus and thought christianity one of the earth's scourges.  Christians like hank have to lie to themselves that their religion is of merit and will lie to everyone else about it's impact (christian nation, et al).

There is NOTHING in that source that says, as you claim, "the Bible is the source of liberty" is attributable to Thomas Jefferson.

I think I posted somewhere about his children being kicked out of CRPC for being insurgents.  :rotfl:

The statement, "the Bible is the source of liberty" has not been found in any writings of Thomas Jefferson.

Actually, I missed this yesterday, and I'll make one additional point.  Anyone who has studied Jefferson, and his writings, clearly knows that the above isn't something that would come from the pen of Thomas Jefferson.  Revisionists of history are dangerous people.

The bad part is that in a saner country, comments like those would have ended her political career instantly.  Sadly, in this country, they won't.
