He said meditation, not medication.

Sometimes that works too!

~thanks to everyone who has prayed for the McGovern family. The service is today, but I can't bring myself to attend. My heart is just broken for them, and I don't think I could keep it together. I will be praying for them, though.

It's still going on.

I guess ole' Gawd can't give her enough strength to go to the service.

My opinion doesn't involve going to church.  But I'm sure you wouldn't buy my belief any more than you do the one that they talk about there.

Probably not, but I would still be interested in hearing it.  That is, after all, what a forum is supposed to be about.  The exchange of ideas.

Now this on Facebook:

See how irrational?  Edna Mae is healed because she croaked.   I just can't believe this kind of thinking.

Sounds like murder, to me.

JUST my* OPINION----NOT AN ANSWER----NOR-----INTENT TO ENTICE YOU TO GOD OR CHURCH> EITHER GOD FINDS YOU OR YOU FIND GOD!

THAT IS BETWEEN YOU AND YOUR IDEOLOGY TOWARD THE GOD BELIEF!

IN SOME BELIEFS: THE DEATH OF CHILD INFANT IS A PURIFIED SOUL THAT HAS BEEN CLEANSED AND PURE!

A CHILD THAT DIES AT BIRTH IS A PURIFIED SOUL! IT HAS NOT SINNED!

WHEN GOD CALLS GODS OWN! ONLY GOD KNOWS THE CAUSE OR REASON!

NO ONE LIVES FOREVER!

MANKIND THINKS AND BELIEVES AS MANKIND IS TAUGHT. MANKIND DOES NOT HAVE THOSE ANSWERS!

BUT i* BELIEVE IN THE ONE(1)GOD AND HAVE LEARNED NOT TO QUESTION THOSE THINGS I AM NOT MEANT TO KNOW!

i* HAVE LEARNED TO LEAVE IT ALL IN THE HANDS OF GOD!

WHY ATTEMPT TO FATHOM THE UNFATHOMABLE?

My thoughts are that spiritual belief's are personal to each one of us.  What I believe doesn't demand that you go out and testify to others.  That's just a way of trying to convert others to what you believe. I believe everyone should have a faith that they feel comfortable with, especially when it does no harm to others.  And no I'm not Wiccan, though I'm sure there is a dab of pagan belief in my spirituality.

Yeah. Pagans throw the best parties.

Why is faith (basically an abdication of rational thought) even necessary?  I'm a fan of "do no harm" philosophies, however there are many "faith based" people out there doing plenty of harm.

Clearly, my relative who made those posts is off her 'effin rocker if she honestly believes even 10% of the BS that she posted.  She's so "faith based" that she's obviously disengaged her noodle.    But then again, disengaging your noodle is a requirement of everyone who is "faith based."

I personally believe it is ALL harmful.  From just not facing reality, to the resources wasted on spiritual masturbation (shrines of self adoration, money for the vatican, money for any church and it's leadership, loss of tax revenues, etc, etc, etc.) called worship.  Just the waste of time, itself.  Going to church is masturbation; the believer gets to "feel good" until the next service.

I was speaking in the general sense regarding do no harm.  If everyone on the planet subscribed to such, we'd all be better off.  The problem with many faith based people is they don't think they're doing any harm when they stick their noses into the business of others.
