Federal tax revenues plummeting

WASHINGTON – The recession is starving the government of tax revenue, just as the president and Congress are piling a major expansion of health care and other programs on the nation's plate and struggling to find money to pay the tab.

The numbers could hardly be more stark: Tax receipts are on pace to drop 18 percent this year, the biggest single-year decline since the Great Depression, while the federal deficit balloons to a record $1.8 trillion.

again...........Kennedy, Reagan, and Bush....ALL cut TAXES.  The Federal Revenue GREW....it seems, like IF a President was serious about gaining MORE revenue....he would FOLLOW what history has TAUGHT us....Cutting Taxes...stimulates the economy and generates MORE revenue.

That is absolute bullshit and you know it because I provided you the actual numbers on the old forum directly from the government's own website.  Telling the same lie over and over does not make it the truth.

But gee Henry, don't you know that the increase in tax's on the affluent business owners will make up for the tax's that are no longer being paid by the workers they laid off to make up for the increase in their tax's?  Now they are having to redistribute their wealth in the form of unemployment and welfare to those who are no longer working and now don't have to pay tax's.  Isn't that how things are supposed to work?     Oh, and they are also making up the deficit for the small business owners who had to close up shop since some of the more affluent businesses had to cut back on their demand for goods because their laid off workers couldn't buy their product.  Gosh wasn't this a good idea congress had?

STFU douche bag...piss on your spinning bullshit.........it has ALREADY proved itself ...THREE times now.....those are just simple FACTS, you turd f'ing ball......it goes like this EVERYTIME.....when you reduce the tax rates it gives incentives to the American people.......to spend money, they way THEY best see fit.....they create jobs, which creates MORE "working" taxpaying citizens...and....stay with me......the economy BOOMS....just like it did in 1982, when we had a worse recession than we do now.....

Me, as intelligent as some of these guys on here CLAIM they are, you would think they would get it....NO, they think it is just peachy when you spend money on programs, that we don't have the money for....oh wait!!..all you have to do is .... PRINT more money!!!   RIGHT?

Quote. . .redistribute their wealth in the form of unemployment and welfare to those who are no longer working and now don't have to pay tax's. . .

That's bullshit too. You have to pay taxes on unemployment benefits, just not up front if you don't want to. But when you file for the tax year(s) in which you collect benefits they are taxed as income.

You're a liar.  Do a google search on 'do tax cuts increase revenue' or continue to be an ignorant hick...it really doesn't matter to me.

What do you expect from someone who can't even spell 'taxes'?

I've learned not to expect anything; that way I don't get disappointed as often.

I stand corrected on that one I haven't drawn unemployment for a looooong time and then it was only for a couple of weeks.

You're confusing your own personal experiences at the time with what was happening with the economy overall.  And here's a clue for you: the Tax Equity and Fiscal Responsibility Act of 1982 raised taxes by $100 billion, the largest taxt hike since World War II.

Quotewhere was you during the 80's..........I bet you was reaping the harvest from a booming economy.

Part of the time I was serving my country, part of the time I was living in Europe and for the last few years, I was taking advantage of the havoc that Reaganomics reaped on the economy by buying and scrapping people's jewelry for the gold so that they could eat.
