but is he also going to be my auto mechanic??

no need for one when your engine is running on full synthetic holy oil.

There is more that can go wrong than just the engine.  Holy oil isn't going to take care of those things.  No thank you.....buying a car off of ebay, or a house, or a camper, or a boat,  Big ticket items....not a very wise plan.
Looks like I've come full circle.

I don't agree but certainly you have to do your due diligence.  I once sold a baby grand piano on eBay to someone in Connecticut.
Arguing with Christians is like playing chess with a pigeon.  No matter how good I am at chess, the pigeon is just going to knock over the pieces, shit on the board and strut around like it's victorious.

Found it...a 1968 Shelby EXP500 CSS Black Hornet from Carroll Shelby's personal collection.  Starting bid was also $100,000.00.  I'm thinking that between this and geebuz's Benz, I'm driving the 'stang.
Me too.  That is a sharp looking car.

A friend of ours sold his boat for $10k to a guy from Texas who was more than happy to pay that and come to Indiana to get it because he said the same boat would have cost him twice that in Texas.

I see a baby grand piano in a different catagory than those things I mentioned.  If it's missing a key, or needs a wire, those probably aren't a big deal.  I personally would never buy anything that I'm going to spend a lot of money on from an online auction site.  I need to be able to see what I am buying up close and personal, and if it's a motorized item, I need to see that it's working. I need to be able to bring someone along with me that knows how the item is supposed to function properly and have them advise me.  I can't just take the word of the seller.

And that's okay....you never have to agree with me on anything. I'm just a difficult person.

Actually, either of those would be a huge deal because they're indicative of abuse.  There are a lot of other not so obvious things that could be wrong with the instrument as well, like a cracked soundboard, that could render it almost worthless so you should really pay someone who knows what he/she is looking at to go check it out before you spend the cost of a car on it.

And that is your preference.

I'm pretty sure that's why I used the word "personally".

And it was noted; I was simply giving you a different perspective.

Bidding has ended once again on the wonder car and no one seems interested for some strange reason.  Of course the seller, realizing what a bargain it is and just knowing people will sooner or later also realize it, has relisted it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290333254679 Come on Ex you give the guy a bid you know you really want this wonderful car...
