And yet, Obama and his minions plan to ram through the bill against all the evidence they are wrong. This will be the highest tax on the general public, doubling your electric bill and causing more taxes on oil that you will pay, including much, much higher gasoline costs.

Warmer winters, more frequent heavy rainstorms and a longer growing season -- Indiana already is feeling the impact of climate change, according to a massive new federal report.

And as Central Indiana sweltered through the kind of heat Wednesday that the report says may become much more common, Congress is debating just how to react to the changes as it considers a measure that could reduce humans' impact on the climate.

Critics worry that the threat of climate change is overblown, but scientists say it is past time to leave that debate behind.

"I understand some of the reluctance and resistance that's out there" to that idea, said J.C. Randolph, director of Indiana University's Center for Research in Energy and the Environment.

But "the debate over whether climate change is happening -- it's over. The thing is trying to figure out how to help solve the problem," said Randolph, who was not involved with the report.

And fear-mongering is not the answer; nor are sour grapes.

An opinion piece...all fluff and no real substance to back up its claims.

QuoteAnd yet, Obama and his minions plan to ram through the bill against all the evidence they are wrong.

Actually, the evidence indicates they are correct but underestimated how quickly some of the effects would manifest themselves.  Feel free to continue to illustrate your absolute ignorance on the subject, however.

QuoteThis will be the highest tax on the general public, doubling your electric bill and causing more taxes on oil that you will pay, including much, much higher gasoline costs.

Again, you're either illustrating your ignorance or you're outright lying.  The actual cost might be $175.00 per household per year by 2020.  A small price to pay considering the alternative.

Industries would either pay for cleaner technology, or buy pollution permits in a secondary market (trade). Industries most affected include electric utilities, gasoline refiners, chemical makers, and steel and cement companies.

The huge costs in this system - over $100 billion a year - would normally be passed on directly to the consumer. But much of the money generated from the sale of these pollution permits is being returned to households and business as a series of tax credits and other allocations. These credits are what push down the annual household cost to a relatively low $175.

Don't forget these tidbits, PH:

The impact on the Federal budget is minimal, with one analysis suggesting that it could actually increase revenues a bit.

Opponents of the measure say the costs will be far higher, while supporters say the average household will actually see an increase in spending power because they'll be using less energy.

It's unfathomable to me that with the wealth of information currently available such ignorance still exists.

Heck, even "common sense" folks know something's happened. It doesn't snow like it used to, storms are getting worse each time they come around, and it's hotter than hell on a holiday earlier every year and for longer. . .

They just want to blame it on the POTUS and hope a bunch of folks jump on the "me too" wagonload of excrement they're hauling about. . .
