Kimmi, I think maybe your comment was meant for me. IMO Mr. Jackson was a pervert and a poor role model as are many pop icons now. Bad rubbish.

Mom, I don't remember hearing anyone say healthcare for everyone is not a Christian value. The healthcare is not really the issue, how it is paid for is the issue and how many people will be hurt by paying for it is the issue, imo.

Well, it has nothing to do with it being a christian value or not.  What it has to do with it the fact that there will still be people who it will not cover.  Not only that I can't afford this "free" health care because of the extra taxes it will be heaping on me so I'm going to be worse off than having no health care in the long run should this go through.  Anyone over 50 will not be treated for certain things because of the cost factor.  People need to get on the computer and talk to people in Canada and the UK and some of those other places to find out what it's like if you happen to be unfortunate enough to be too old or have a serious illness.  Then decide how universal health care can not be considered a christian value.

If you can't substantiate that our system will be modeled after any of these, what would the point be of talking to them (even if the WHO does say that their health care systems are better than ours)?

Even some of the congressmen are saying that there will still be around 65000 not covered so what's the point?  At least those who aren't covered now have organizations they can go to and get treated but with the universal health care those will no longer exist.
