There are positive indicators as well.

And since we dont know how many have we might have lost without the stimulus bill, you really dont have a point, do you?

You really just don't get it; do you?  Do you think these job losses are the effect of something that just happened last week or last month?  You do understand that the rate of job losses is slowing; don't you?

Henry, surely neither you nor the guy who "just lost his job" are so naive as to think that the stimulus bill would pass and like a light switch the tide would turn and we would all be in high cotton again the next morning.
Job losses are slowing, the stock market has been fairly stable and trending slowly upward the past couple of months. We're seeing some light at the end of the tunnel finally.

Why thank you for that stunning contribution to the conversation.

Look, I don't think anyone is happy about the spending we're doing as a response to this economy. I've often wondered if it wouldn't have been better, in the long term, to just let it all collapse around us. But apparently the general consensus among economists who know a damn site more than you or I do on the matter thought otherwise. You are free to piss and moan to your little heart's content (or, I suspect, til we have a Republican President again, at which point I imagine you will once again turn into Pollyanna) but whether you choose to see the glass as half full or half empty, it is filling up. Knock on wood.

I totally get it...............just for the record, 2.4 million since feb of 09..........and for what it is worth....I don't think, it made a damn bit of difference WITH or WITHOUT the stimulus bill...........this recession was and is coming to an end..........NOW, we need to see how long it lasts until it dips AGAIN (or rises).......THAT will be the results of the stimulus...and this administration.

Ballmer Says Tax Would Move Microsoft Jobs Offshore ...

June 3 (Bloomberg) -- Microsoft Corp. Chief Executive Officer Steven Ballmer said the world's largest software company would move some employees offshore if Congress enacts President Barack Obama's plans to impose higher taxes on U.S. companies' foreign profits.

"It makes U.S. jobs more expensive," Ballmer said in an interview. "We're better off taking lots of people and moving them out of the U.S. as opposed to keeping them inside the U.S."

Obama on May 4 proposed outlawing or restricting about $190 billion in tax breaks for offshore companies over the next decade. Such business groups as the National Foreign Trade Council, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Business Roundtable have denounced the proposed overhaul.

U.S. tax rules let companies defer paying corporate rates as high as 35 percent on most types of foreign profits as long as that money remains invested overseas. Obama says he wants to end such incentives to keep foreign profits tax-deferred so that companies would invest them in the U.S
